Best aim assist type in MW3

Which aimbot is the best one?

If you play MW3 on a controller as I do, then you will know an aim assist is necessary due to its inherent inferiority to the more traditional mouse and keyboard approach. In this article, I will help you make a choice of which aim assist type you should be using to get the best results possible.

Which aim assist type should I choose for my controller in MW3?

You should choose the Black Ops aim assist type to get the best and most fluid combat experience in MW3. This type of assist will provide a traditional aim slowdown when your reticles come close to a target, like in all Black Ops games. I was always a huge fan of aiming in these spinoff series and was overjoyed to see the feature be implemented in Modern Warfare 3 as well, making it one of the most beginner-friendly MW games I have seen.

When browsing other choices, you might still find something you want to try out for yourself. After all, why not experiment now that the game gives you the choice? Who knows, you may discover a certain aim assist type suits you even better. Here are all the possible options given by the game:

  • Default: Traditional aim slowdown near target used in Modern Warfare games.
  • Precision: Strong aim slowdown, which only kicks in when aiming closer to the target. Recommended for accurate players.
  • Focusing: Strong aim slowdown, which also kicks in when narrowly missing the target. Recommended for players new to analog aiming.
  • Black Ops: Traditional aim slowdown near target used in Black Ops games
