What is SAN in Palworld and how do you increase it?

Believe it or not, your Pals can get just as stressed out as you while exploring and battling. Their condition is very reliant on the state of their Sanity, so here are the details on how you can increase it!

The SAN stat, shown under your Pal's health and hunger bar, stands for Sanity. This basically represents how stressed your Pal is. The lower the Sanity percentage, the more your Pal needs extra care; the higher the sanity, the better your Pal's condition. So what can you do when your Pal's Sanity is low? There are plenty of solutions!

How to increase your Pal's Sanity in Palworld

When your Pal's Sanity looks low, you'll want to check their needs and ensure you're meeting them all. It could need a break or need some food. Here are all the ways you can increase Sanity:

Feed your Pal

Your Pal's Sanity could drop down very quickly if they are hungry. No one wants a hangry Pal accompanying them on their exploration, so it's better to check your Pal's hunger meter and fill it up as much as possible. You can feed them just about any type of food you have on you, but some foods will increase their hunger meter more (especially cooked meals).

Make a bed for your Pal

Your Pal can get tired, but they won't want to sleep just anywhere. You can make sure your Pal's Sanity stays higher by building a Pal bed. Each Pal needs their own bed to sleep in so they can be comfortable and be ready to continue working and exploring.

Make a Hot Springs for your Pal

A Hot Spring is one of the best ways to increase your Pal's Sanity and the quickest. The Hot Spring is a special item you can build for your base, unlockable in Technology Branch 9, that is specifically for raising your Pal's Sanity. Placing one of these down in your best will allow Pals to hop in and wind down for a bit, increasing their Sanity as they do.

Switch your Pal out

Another great way to increase your Pal's Sanity is by giving them a break. Switch out the Pals in your party and place low Sanity Pals on the base or in storage so they can relax for a bit. This is an easy way to keep Sanity high, especially if you have plenty of Pals in your collection.

Don't let your Pal's get too stressed out; they can grow depressed or act up if they go too long with low Sanity. Give them a break once in a while and make sure you're taking good care of them to prevent that from happening.
