Sonic x Shadow Generations is a combination remaster, remake, and new content from Sega. This new title will be available in fall 2024.

Everything we know about Sonic x Shadow Generations

In Sonic x Shadow, you will need to take on a whole bunch of familiar 2D and 3D Sonic levels from the original Generations that have been both "remastered and expanded." There will also be a brand-new Shadow playable campaign added into the mix, giving you a new side of the same story. The PlayStation blog promises that we'll get to "dive into Shadow’s dark past to understand his motivations and learn more about him as a character" during the Shadow campaign, bringing everyone a little closer to one of the best hedgehogs around.

What is the release date of Sonic x Shadow Generations?

Sonic x Shadow Generations will release in fall 2024. While a specific date has not been confirmed, it will most likely be sometime in October unless it is delayed. Based on the information currently available on the ShadowGenerations.com website, it looks like it will release for all platformers at the same time.

What platforms will Sonic x Shadow Generations be on?

You will be able to play Sonic x Shadow Generations on just about anything, though at time of writing it doesn't appear to be wishlist-able on any console or platform. This remake and reimagining of the original Generations will be available on:

The Sonic x Shadow Generations trailer

This quick trailer was shown off at the State of Play for PlayStation on January 31, 2024. It shows off not only the updated graphics and looks of some of the stages, but also a little but of Shadow's exclusive story, giving fans a sneak peak into what the dark side of the hedgehog will look like.
