In Last Epoch, Necromancers are the ultimate pet class when it comes to harnessing the undead. I this sounds interesting to you, or you just have a curiosity for class the setup works, here's everything you need to know about to get this build up and running.
Best Necromancer Build in Last Epoch
The key component to this Necromancer minion build is, unsurprisingly, the pets you can summon. Due to the way Last Epoch handles skills, there are many configurable customizations of your pets for the build. This build revolves around three abilities: Summon Bone Golem, Summon Skeleton, and Summon Volatile Zombie. Along with this, Fire Damage is the main damage type.
Best Attributes for Necromancer in Last Epoch
The Necromancer is a sub-class of the Acolyte, so Intelligence remains the most important stat for this build. As an Attribute, Intelligence benefits you in many different ways that make the stat something to always be on the lookout for when collecting gear or picking Passives. Vitality is also a decently valuable stat as it provides you additional health, which you'll need to survive Last Epoch's endgame.
Best Skill Specializations for Necromancer in Last Epoch
The following skills are the pillars for this Necromancer minion build.
Summon Bone Golem
This minion is your main summon and the one you should be focused on the most. This is because there is an extremely powerful Unique item that lets you have several of these beasts out at once. The Pyre Golem node converts your standard golem into a Fire-based one, which is the build's core damage type. Bone Kindling is the other important must-have node, as it dramatically boosts the damage of your Pyre Golem.
Summon Skeleton
You will not be utilizing Summon Skeleton an as active summon in this build due to a Unique item I will talk about later. Instead, it will be utilized for two main nodes, both of which provide you the ability to summon additional skeletons: Hollow Walkers and Marrow Walkers. The number of Skeletons you can summon is important.
Summon Votaltile Zombie
This is your personal DPS tool and exists as filler Fire Damage between your Golem rampage. Flammable Vitae turns your Zombie's attacks and base damage into Fire Damage. Leap Attack reduces the time it takes for them to reach their targets. Dreadful Horde allows to summon several with a single cast at the cost of an added cooldown.
Summon Skeletal Mage
While you will be summoning Skeletal Mages, they are primarily to be used by your Pyre Golems through Bone Kindling. This means that your mages will be dying often to power up your golems. You will need to resummon them constantly to maintain the damage boost for your golems, as a result. Pyromancers adds Fire-based mages to your summoning pool, but we will be removing these using the Inferno node. Flame Rot makes your Pyromancers deal more damage with Ignite.
Transplant
This is your main mobility tool for the build. Fleeting Form is a must-have node to take. Bone Armor provides you with a solid, consistent form of active survivability. Marrow Blades boosts the damage of your minions after casting this ability, which is a nice plus for your Pyre Golems.

- Grave Thorns - Boosts the survivability of all your minions.
- Reclamation of Souls - Provides you with Ward when one of minions dies, and also allows you to retain more of that Ward. This is amazing because your Skeletal Mages will constantly be dying due to the effects of Bone Kindling.

- Mortal Tether - Provides a massive boost to the health of your minions.
- Mark of Punishment - When one of your minions dies, casts Mark of Death on the nearest enemy. Mark of Death shreds all resistance of the target by 25%. Bone Kindling makes this a constant effect.

- Frantic Summons - Provides a sizable boost to your minions' attack/cast speed, while also providing you the same.
- Tyrant - Provides you with a small amount of additional health. 3/8 as it is primarily taken to bridge to the next node.

Best Blessing for the Necromancer in Last Epoch
The Blessings you want to take for this build should focus on buffing your Fire Damage and Minion Damage as much as possible.
- Grand Spirit of Command - Gives your Minions a huge buff to their overall damage. Must Have.
- Grand Flames of Calamity - Gives you a massive buff to your Fire Damage
- Grand Breath of Cinders - Grants you a high chance to shred Fire Resistance on Hit, which is a large buff for your Pyre Golems.
- Grand Flames of the Black Sun - While Ignite DoT is not your focus, because of the focus on Fire Damage, Ignite still provides a significant amount of supplementary damage for this build.
- Grand Greed of Darkness - Provide a significant increase to survivability via Ward gain and decay threshold
- Grand Resolve of Humanity - Provides a large boost to all Resistances, which is necessary in the endgame.
- Grand Virtue of Command - Does the same as the above-mentioned Blessing but for your Minions instead.

Best Gear Items and Affixes for Necromancer in Last Epoch
As mentioned earlier, this build's primary focus is on utilizing Bone Golems. As such, there are a couple of core items you'll want to pick up.
- Aaron's Will - This Unique chest piece is a required item for this build's entire functionality. It allows you to summon multiple Pyre Golems based on the maximum number of skeletons you can summon. You cannot summon Skeletons while using this chest piece, but you can summon Skeleton Mages still. You can target farm this item through Blood, Frost, and Death, and it requires Level 75 to use.
- Dragonflame Edict - This staff gives you and your Minions a massive boost to Fire Damage to such a degree that this is really your only option for a weapon for the build. It can be target-farmed via Emperor of Corpses and has a 50% chance drop rate, making this surprisingly easy to obtain. However, it does require you to be Level 81.
As far as Affixes to keep an eye on, there are a few that are of real importance to consider.
- Increased Minion Fire Damage - As your Pyre Golems are your main source of damage, this is your most important stat.
- Chance to Shred Fire Resistance - Incredibly high value affix, boosts the Fire Damage of you and your Pyre Golems.
- Increased Minion Damage - The same as Minion Fire Damage, only it is a general stat instead.
- Spell Damage - As a caster, this is always nice to have as an additional stat.
- Increased Fire Damage - As you will always be attacking alongside your Pyre Golems, there is no reason not to boost your Fire Damage as well.
Best Idols for the Necromancer in Last Epoch
- Small Lagonian Idol - You're looking for ones that provide Ward Retention and Shared Fire Damage.
- Stout Idol - You want to keep an eye out for ones that provide Chance to Ignite on Hit and Shared Fire Damage.
- Grand Bone Idol - Hunt for ones that provide Increased Minion Fire Damage and Ward Gain on Kill.
How to play the Necromancer in Last Epoch
Your game plan for this Necromancer Build is rather simple, but with nuances. Most of your damage is going to come from the army of Pyre Golems you summon. While they will deal plenty of damage on their own, you want to be constantly supplying them with fuel by allowing them to kill the Skeleton Mages you summon.
Most of your time in this build will be spent resummoning the Skeleton Mages your Pyre Golems kill while throwing in filler casts of Summon Volatile Zombie on cooldown. Finally, you'll also want to be using Transplant on cooldown for the additional damage buff to your minions, though this is overkill at this point. Feel free to save Transplant casts for pure mobility instead, and treat the damage buff as an extra nice thing to have.
