If you love competitive knockout games on Roblox, Death Ball is among the greats! But if you want to succeed in the arena, parrying the ball away with your weapon to win each round, you’ll need to use the best champions to succeed.
Who are the best champions in Roblox Death Ball?
Roblox Death Ball is a dodgeball-style arena combat game where you claim Gems and level up by defeating opponents and winning rounds by being the last player standing. As you level up you will unlock improved abilities for each champion, with different champions suiting different playstyles due to their varied strengths and weaknesses.
There are around 10 champions you can purchase and level up in Roblox Death Ball, all inspired by anime heroes. Most are available to buy with the Gems you earn as you play (or can collect via our Roblox Death Ball codes), but some are only available via completing in-game quests or with Roblox. I’ve listed the best five champions to go for below as well as a couple of other strong options if your style of play suits something a little different.
Keilo
Based on: Killua Zoldyck (Hunter x Hunter)
Keilo the lightning master can be purchased using 25k Gems. He’s great for dodging and moving at speed around the arena. You’ll start with the Zap Freeze ability which freezes the ball for 2.5 seconds as well as electrocuting an opponent if timed well.
You’ll move no add Godspeed at level 15 (run super fast for 5 seconds while having auto-deflect for that time), Assassin Invisibility at level 50 (invisible and untargetable for 3 seconds), and Lightning Intercept at 75 (you intercept for 7 seconds and can deflect for someone else once). Note that Keilo used to only be available by spending 199 Robux, but this was changed.
Saito
Based on: Saitama (One-Punch Man)
The hero Saito is either obtained by RNG when you first start playing (you get one free random character) or for 5k Gems afterward. Generally seen as the game’s premium blocking character, Saito gets Uppercut immediately (an auto-deflect with a long deflect time that launches the ball a long distance).
Later you can get Super Jump at level 25 (launching you high into the air), Sonic Slide at 50 (an auto-deflect with a very long timer), and Ground Walls at level 80 (another auto-deflect that speeds up the ball, which can often throw off your opponents).
Koju
Based on: Toji Fushiguro (Jujutsu Kaisen)
You can only obtain Koju by finding Cursed Spirit packs when completing the Cursed Spirit boss battle. Koju is a good defensive champion that builds up to some great combos later, as he evolves into an attacking force too.
When you begin you’ll have Leap Strike, which allows you to auto-deflect while you jump through the air. As you level up you’ll also attain Spirit Wall at 30 (the wall makes other players use their block while it also deflects the ball for you), Chain Spear at 67 (the ball targets you, but then auto-deflects), and Handgun when you hit level 89 (you can shoot the ball to deflect it).
Jiro
Based on: Hisoka (Hunter x Hunter)
Jiro the trickster champion can only be obtained once you complete the Card Hunt, which involves collecting nine cards. These cards are hidden in various places throughout the game, from the lobby to boss battles (see below). This is a great hero for launching complex combos.
Jiro starts with the Bomb Jump ability, which allows you to close in on opponents or reach high locations. At level 30 you gain Bonk (a powerful strike that damages a player when the ball gets to them), 62 Side Step (the ball misses you), and at 80 Bungee (makes the ball move toward you).
Death Ball Jiro's Card Hunt Guide - All Locations
To complete the hunt you need nine of the available cards. Here are the simpler locations:
- On the right side of the blue roof of the Champions Hall in the lobby.
- In the Dark Dimension map, on one of the walls.
- Behind Jiro in the Champions Hall.
- On one of the three high pillars surrounding the RAP-tower in the lobby.
- On the Tricky Tower map, on top of the electric tower in the right lower corner.
- Behind the Enchantment Table in the Trading Lobby.
- By the blue dog on the Champions Hall in the lobby.
- In the Boss Lobby, behind the 'Coming Soon' door.
- In the Lobby, by the Fruit Booth, on the right.
- Inside a bush on the Tournament Arena map.
- By the girls lying down on the left side of the Beach map.
- On one of the doors near a ramp on the Ghoul Arena map.
- Under a bronze gear on the Castle map.
Gazo
Based on: Satoru Gojo (Jujutsu Kaisen)
Time and space champion Gazo is either obtained by RNG when you first start playing (you get one free random character) or for 5k Gems afterward. He’s a good choice if you like the idea of tricking your opponents. You start with the Fake Ball ability, which deflects the ball but also creates a fake one to confuse players).
As you level up you’ll also gain Phase Dash at 20 (teleport in the direction you’re pointing), Blindfold at 60 (blinds a random player), and Astral Portal at 85 (the ball will go through it, rather than coming at you).
The next best options
Both Kameki and Lufus are solid champions to level up with, but they just miss out on my top five. Kameki costs 17.5k Gems and has some interesting abilities that affect the speed of the ball and your movement; this makes him hard to play and perfect but great if you put in the effort. Lufus is either your random starting champion or can be bought for 5k Gems later. If you want to sabotage other players through deflections and slowing time, he is a fun and disruptive option.
