The much anticipated Anime Defenders Update 5 has been officially announced by its developers. The best part is that they have also revealed the roadmap for the next update. So without any further ado, here’s everything you need to know about Anime Defenders Update 5.
When does the next Anime Defenders update release? – Update 5
Unfortunately, the release date for Update 5 hasn’t been announced yet, as the Anime Defenders developers have said they’re still working on the new content. However, considering the typical release pattern, a major update is usually rolled out in the third week of a month.
Taking this into account, Update 5 should be released anytime between August 19 and 26 on the Roblox platform. In the meantime, I’ll make sure to stay in touch with any official announcements and update this article accordingly.
Anime Defenders Update 5 Patch Notes
Unlike the release date, the Anime Defenders developer has unveiled the official patch notes for the Update 5. The new realm known as Athenyx is the major highlight of the next patch which will consist of new maps, challenges, and a brand new battle pass. They have also announced the arrival of a new Infinite challenge mode. Here’s a quick rundown of the Update 5 patch notes:
New Realm: Athenyx
A new realm, the domain of the Goddess Athenyx will appear in the next update. In the realm, you can play on new maps, complete fresh challenges, and the battle pass to eventually summon units from Athenyx’s Trials (banners). You may only bring three of your units into the realm. Also, you will need the Athenyx key if you want to exit this realm. Finally, it’s worth noting that there is a level 30 requirement to enter the realm.
New Trials (Banners)
In the realm, you can summon from one of three trials (banners), each offering 11 new realm units obtainable only within the realm. Each banner contains different secret and mythic units with unique strengths.
Each banner is summoned with one of three currencies: Aqua, Solar, and Flame Tokens. These tokens are obtained based on the maps and challenges you complete. You must choose which path you want to grind to earn the tokens needed for the summons.
There will be a secret pity system on these banners.
New Athenyx Challenges
In the realm, there will be an area for challenges. These challenges are like different game modes that drastically alter the gameplay.
New Story maps
- Six new story maps.
- Each map drops items and tokens based on the path you want to grind in the realm.
Infinite Challenge mode
Each map will have a new Infinite Challenge mode. It functions like Infinite Mode, but after every 15 waves, you have to pick a modifier out of three presented to you. The selected modifier stacks as you progress through infinite waves, making it progressively harder.
New Infinite Challenge leaderboards will also exist, with rewards.
Realm Items
- Wave Skip Item: If used, you skip to certain wave numbers, useful in Infinite Mode.
- Portal Hardening Item: If used on any portal, the portal will guarantee to drop itself in case you don't hit the secret unit, so you can try again.
- Limit Breaker: If used on a unit, it will increase its level cap.
- Athenyx's Key: Used to exit Athenyx's realm.
- Athenyx's Tether: Used to take any one unit back with you to the main world.
New Athenyx Battle Pass
In the realm, you will have access to a free-to-play (F2P) and premium battle pass with 25 tiers. The battle pass is resettable when you reach the end, allowing you to play it again. The goal of the battle pass is to grind for Athenyx's Key and Athenyx's Tether, enabling you to exit the realm and take a unit back with you.
