Updated March 30 2026
We've updated this guide to reflect the SWORN 1.2 patch, which introduced three new alternate bosses on Knight difficulty and higher. All builds have been rechecked against the current meta, including notes on the Shatter mechanic and Babd's Shades changes from Update #2.
This guide will break down the best SWORN builds so you know the most efficient Weapons, Spells, Weapon Augments, and Fae Lord synergies for every class. With some Fae Lord Blessings capable of making or breaking a run, understanding how to build each class is key to taking down King Arthur and the other Knights of the Round Table. Whether you're playing solo or in a co-op roguelike session with friends, the right setup makes all the difference in this Arthurian roguelite.
Best Character Builds in SWORN - All Classes

| Character | Weapon | Spell | Main Fae Lord | Secondary Fae Lord |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Vigilante | Chakrams (Bladed Garb + Rebound Blades) | Shadow Strike | Babd | Lugh Mab Beira |
| Monk | Chimes (Hollow Pitch + Jitterbug) | Black Hole | Gogmagog Lugh | Oberon Lugh Babd |
| Rook | Gauntlets (Furious Fists + Controlled Blows) | Sky Drop | Gogmagog | Lugh Titania Mab |
| Specter | Claws (Demonic Reach + Rapid Devastation) | Spirit Guardians | Gogmagog Oberon | Lugh Mab Beira |
The best builds in SWORN come from understanding how your Weapons and Spells interact with the Blessings you receive. Since RNG determines what you have to work with, it's hard to recreate the same build every time. That said, you can improve those odds if you use Moonstone to buy Fated Dice before the run.
This way, you can reroll Fae Lords and Blessings until you get what you want. Of course, this is also very RNG-dependent, so instead of chasing a perfect setup, focus on acquiring two key Fae Lord Blessings and build around their strengths. For example:
- Stealth builds excel with high-scaling damage Fae Lords like Babd, Lugh, and Titania, but struggle with Gogmagog, who relies on rapid hits to charge his Stagger meter.
- Ranged builds should avoid close-combat dash Blessings from Gogmagog. Instead, go for Babd or Lugh, as they offer good ranged-dash skills. A glass cannon focus is the best approach here.
- Sovereign difficulty builds should prioritize crowd control over raw damage. The Shatter mechanic (combining Beira's Freeze with Gogmagog's Stagger) is the most consistent way to control and burst down enemies at high difficulty levels. When both statuses land on the same enemy, they trigger Shatter for massive bonus damage.
- The Bone Collector Duo Blessing (Babd + Gogmagog) gives a +1% damage increase to all attacks per kill, stacking up to +100% for the run. It works across all classes and is worth building toward whenever you have both Fae Lords invested.
NOTE: Always have at least one secondary Fae Blessing to maximize their powerful Duo Skills. Duo Blessings are often the biggest power spikes in any run.
Best Vigilante Build in SWORN (Chakrams + Shadow Strike)

The best Vigilante build revolves around the Shadow Strike + Babd combo because of the backstab bonus damage on character attacks. The Chakram weapon features an unlockable passive called Rebound Blades, which grants a 50% damage increase when the chakrams return to Vigilante, so make sure to unlock it with Grail Water. Doubling down with Babd's Deadly Precision Blessing lets you boost all Backstab damage at once for devastating results.
Note that as of Update 2, Babd's Shades no longer Backstab but deal increased base damage instead. The core backstab synergy still applies to Vigilante's own attacks via Deadly Precision, so the build remains strong. Feel free to experiment with alternative Fae Lords, but try to get Light Attack, Spell, and Dash from Babd.
| Slots | Best Vigilante Attack Skills | Alternate Blessings |
|---|---|---|
| Light Attack | Babd - backstab damage bonus | Gogmagog, Lugh, Oberon |
| Heavy Attack | Babd - backstab damage bonus | Mab, Titania |
| Dash | Babd - Leaves behind a Shade (increased base damage) | Lugh, Oberon |
| Spell | Babd - backstab damage bonus | Mab, Titania, Oberon |
| Ultimate | Babd - AoE attack with Shades | Beira |
| Companion | Babd - Shadowkin launches Shades | Lugh, Oberon |
Best Monk Build (Chimes + Black Hole)

Monk is considered the safest class in SWORN and excels at ranged combat, especially with the Chimes + Black Hole combo. Unlike Vigilante, Monk isn't as reliant on specific Fae Lords. Her strength comes from the ability to attack from anywhere on the field, making her the best starting point for learning the game. To maximize her spell damage and overall damage output, focus on heavy-hitting Blessings from Lugh and Gogmagog.
If you pick up the Anvil weapon augment, your heavy attack fires off a second time automatically, which lets you lock bosses in a near-permanent stagger loop with the Chimes. This is one of the strongest community-confirmed setups for pushing higher difficulty levels. Below is a list of Fae Blessings to prioritize when playing as Monk.
| Slots | Best Monk Attack Skills | Alternate Skills |
|---|---|---|
| Light Attack | Mab - Venom on hit | Lugh, Beira |
| Heavy Attack | Gogmagog - Stagger on hit | Lugh, Oberon |
| Dash | Lugh - Ranged attack | Babd |
| Spell | Gogmagog - Stagger on hit | Lugh, Beira |
| Ultimate | Beira - AoE Chill DMG | Babd, Oberon |
| Companion | Lugh - Ranged attack | Babd, Oberon |
Best Rook Build (Gauntlets + Sky Drop)

Best Rook builds in SWORN excel at Stun mechanics and high-scaling attacks. A successful run with Rook comes down to maximizing his Sky Drop spell for high-damage output and mobility. While Gauntlets have the best speed/damage balance, the Great Hammer is also a strong choice, especially when upgraded at Nimue. For Sovereign difficulty, the Halberd paired with Gogmagog and Babd is currently the most consistent boss-killing setup, thanks to the heavy attack spin covering a wide area.
For the best results, prioritize Gogmagog for Rook. His defensive bonuses (Armored Skin for Shield!) and Stun control make him the ideal Fae Lord for this class. Cliona also has useful defensive passives like Death Shroud, which reduces incoming damage. Once enemies are stunned, follow up with powerful attacks from Titania or Lugh to maximize damage. Note that after Update 2, Gogmagog's Steel Resolve now grants a regenerating Damage Shield to the entire party, making Rook an even stronger choice in co-op. Here are the key Blessings to prioritize when playing as Rook:
| Slots | Best Rook Attack Skills | Alternate Skills |
|---|---|---|
| Light Attack | Gogmagog - Stagger on hit | Lugh, Beira |
| Heavy Attack | Lugh - Critical Hit | Titania, Gogmagog |
| Dash | Babd - Leaves Shades | Beira, Titania |
| Spell | Gogmagog - Stagger on hit | Lugh, Beira |
| Ultimate | Beira - AoE Chill DMG | Gogmagog |
| Companion | Mab - Brood Mother | Gogmagog, Oberon |
Best Specter Build (Claws + Spirit Guardians)

The best Specter build focuses on lightning-fast light attacks with Claws and on your ability to avoid incoming damage. For that, you'll need to pair multiple Fae Lords, as each attack slot benefits from a different angle. Pairing Specter with Mab and her Brood Mother companion adds an extra layer of battlefield control. Let the summoned spiders multiply by taking out weaker enemies, and you'll have a swarming distraction while you dash in and out of danger.
Keep in mind that Specter works well on lower and mid difficulties, but can struggle on Sovereign because the high-difficulty enemies deal too much damage to consistently trade hits. Spirit Guardians can let you permastun most bosses (except Arthur) when combined with most of Specter's weapons, which is one of his biggest advantages in the right matchup. Here are the key Blessings to prioritize when playing as Specter:
| Slots | Best Specter Attack Skills | Alternate Skills |
|---|---|---|
| Light Attack | Gogmagog - Stagger on hit | Oberon, Mab |
| Heavy Attack | Titania - Ignite charge | Mab, Beira |
| Dash | Babd - Creates Shades (add Sling Blades for ranged attack) | Lugh, Oberon |
| Spell | Lugh - Critical hit | Mab, Titania |
| Ultimate | Beira - AoE Chill DMG | Babd, Oberon |
| Companion | Mab - Brood Mother | Lugh, Oberon |
SWORN Best Class Builds FAQ
Monk Chimes build is the best choice at the start, provided you've unlocked this class and weapon. This build creates absolute havoc in combat, as it can cover a lot of ground, allowing you to move constantly without the need to be precise. Just keep hitting the heavy attack button. If you pick up the Anvil augment, the heavy attack fires twice automatically, which makes this even more forgiving.
Monk is a great support unit, so combine Chimes to lay waste and Arcane Shield to protect your friends. Rook is also a great team player with his Commander Shield spell that protects allies, and his Gogmagog Damage Shield (Steel Resolve) now benefits the entire party. If you're a beginner, Vigilante with Bow is a great choice, as you can stay behind and snipe enemies.
If you're a skilled player in similar games (Hades, for example), you should look for close combat, dash-friendly builds, such as Specter with Claws or Rook with Gauntlets. But if this fast-moving combat is a bit overwhelming, start with ranged options like Monk with Chimes or Vigilante with Bow.
For Sovereign difficulty, prioritize crowd control over raw damage. Monk and Rook are the most consistent choices at this level. The Shatter mechanic, which requires combining Beira's Freeze with Gogmagog's Stagger on the same enemy, is the most reliable way to deal burst damage while controlling the fight. Rook with the Halberd, focusing on Gogmagog and Babd Fae Lords, is also a strong pick for its area coverage and tankiness.
