Anime Rangers X Content Deleted – Did DMCA Strike Again?

Anime Rangers X is another game on the platform to get hit by a DMCA, so let's talk about what it is, why it happened, and what you can expect going forward. DMCA strikes are sadly very common across Roblox, especially with games of similar content. There's been plenty of anime inspired tower defense games that all use the exact same or slightly different assets for their units, maps and even the entire UI.

While Anime Rangers X is different from the rest with the twist on the usual Tower Defense mechanic, it might be that they weren't different enough for some. However, there have been several conflicting messages from the people involved in the game on who and if it was a DMCA or not.

Originally in their #annoucements channel on the Anime Rangers X Discord, several question helpers were talking about how it seemed that the game got copyrighted. Even one of the Lead Developers said it was a DMCA.

However, the Co Owner recently claimed that it's a minor issue and that no DMCA was filed against them by any anime studio or publisher. This was in a response to players speculating whether it was the One Piece units that caused this (as there is also an official One Piece game on Roblox). This does leave other Roblox TD games free to have claimed copyright.

Now the question is if the game will reopen again. We've seen plenty of games keep coming back and then getting their content deleted again not even hours later. The team behind Anime Rangers X is confident that it won't be an issue in the future and they are hard at work to solve the issue.

So what can you expect now? The game should be back online on Monday 28 April, provided that everything goes well when they reach out to Roblox support. They are doing this in order to avoid the game being taken down again. You can most likely expect them to change their name, but until Monday we won't know for sure what else they have changed.

Will Anime Rangers X come back?

So far, the answers seems to be yes. The bigger question is if they will stay up.

Why did Anime Rangers X get DMCA?

DMCA is a copyright law set in place to protect intellectual propery. There are speculations that it was the One Piece units at fault, and some even saying it was Dio from JoJo's Bizzare Adventure, but we don't know for sure.

Will I lose my data in Anime Rangers X?

The Co Owner of the game has stated that the game will reopen without any data loss. That means you can remain calm knowing you won't lose any of your units, especially if you have the limited ones like Yuta.
