Stress is part of the Xenomorph experience, as facing them (pun intended) can be pretty unpleasant. In Aliens: Dark Descent, marines tend to go berserk if driven to the edge by those foul creatures. That's why one of my mission priorities was to keep my soldiers focused. But after a couple of waves of Aliens, the stress kept creeping in. There are several solutions for reducing stress, but the most effective is arguably shelter. Here's how to create shelter in Aliens: Dark Descent.
How to build shelter and reduce stress in Aliens Dark Descent
You must weld the room doors to create shelter in Aliens: Dark Descent. That way, you'll be sure you're safe, and that xenomorphs can't reach you. However, you can only create a shelter in certain areas. Those places are usually marked with a green house icon on the map. But welding is not free, as you need to use a welding tool.
If you don't have it, you can't create shelter. In that case, you must find other ways to reduce stress in Aliens: Dark Descent. As you know, in space, no one can hear you scream, and you're on your own in this game.
Stress-reducing alternatives to shelter in Aliens Dark Descent
There are several ways to reduce stress in Aliens: Dark Descent, besides building a shelter:
- Naproleve pills - Marines have them in their inventories. Taking pills reduces stress by 100 points.
- Reprimand ability - Sergent can use Reprimand skill to make marines immune to stress for 30 seconds, essentially saving them from falling apart while Aliens attack.
- Bravery - this won't fix stress, but it will make marines more resilient to it.
