It seems like each door in Alone in the Dark has its own key, which makes the Decerto Manor really secure but also inaccessible. Some doors are wedged, which makes me wonder how to open them.
How to unlock wedged doors in Alone in the Dark
To go through wedged doors in Alone in the Dark, you must obtain a Palette knife (a key item needed to remove the wedges somebody stuck below certain manor doors). To get the Palette knife, you must progress throughout the second act until you discover an Oil rig on the other side.
After finishing the Astronomical Clock puzzle, the Talisman tells you to go into Batiste's room to advance the plot. Once you get there, a portal to the dark dimension opens, allowing you to step into the nightmare realm once more. After encountering a maid stuck on the other side and saving her life from a strange Kothoga-like creature, you abruptly return to the real world, carrying a bag with you.

Alongside the all-important Palette knife, you will also find Reflections on the power of the verb in certain texts, a Clue, and a Sitting room key (which is also an item vital to the game progression). Not a bad haul from the Shadowrealm if you ask me.
All wedged doors in Alone in the Dark
The most important door that you will open with the Palette knife in Alone in the Dark is the Drawing room door, where the telescope is located. However, the Second-floor hallway door also has a wedge in it. Once you remove it, you will have a much easier time navigating between private rooms and the Mezzanine.
