How to Plant a Money Tree

If you're wanting to potentially triple your money, then you're going to have to bury some bells and see what pops up! First, the only way you can do this is to find a glowing spot on your island. You can't do this anywhere else! Here's what you need to be looking for:

Once you find one of these glimmering locations, you will need to have a shovel handy. Take out the shovel and dig up the spot, you will then be rewarded with a nice sack of bells for your troubles! You will then be left with a glowing hole in the ground. You can now go into your inventory and separate out an amount of Bells you'd like to plant. The max amount you can do this with is 10,000 Bells, so don't bother planting anymore than that or it will go to waste. Make sure to be facing the glowing hole in the ground and then select the bag of money. Pick the "Bury in Hole" option which will plant the money! Now, all you need to do is wait...

In around 4 days or so, you should come back to the spot and find a tree has grown with three sacks of cash! Shake the tree to drop them on the ground so you can loot up the spoils. Each of these sacks should be in the same amount that you planted! So, if you planted 10,000 Bells, you will receive 30,000 Bells for your trouble. That's a pretty solid investment, so it's worth it to give it a try if you find one of these glowing locations. The tree will only sprout money one time, so you can chop it down afterwards.

While we don't know this for sure, it's possible that the growing of the tree can fail. So, this might not be guaranteed, we'll have to do some more testing to verify it completely! Well, that's everything you need to know on how to plant money trees in Animal Crossing: New Horizons!
