Similar to the Nook Miles Ticket airplane tours, now you can also go on Boat Tours. Going on a Boat Tour is a great way to gather items, since the islands are all at a random time of year, and may have unique season items. You can also find Gyroid Fragments while you are there, by digging them up. So how do you go on a Boat Tour? To do that, you will need to find Kapp’n, the sea captain song-singing kappa that will be a familiar face to veterans of the Animal Crossing franchise.
In order to find Kapp’n, it’s really quite simple. Every island in Animal Crossing comes with a dock. The docks can be various sizes and in various places based on your island layout, but every island has one. If you don’t know where your dock is, it is marked on your minimap by a small brown rectangle protruding from a shoreline.

Head to your dock, and you will find that, if your island has at least 3-stars, the dock now has a boat docked there, manned by Kapp’n himself. Talk to him in order to get on his boat, and he will sing for you as he takes you to a mystery island. You can take a Boat Tour with Kapp’n once a day for 1,000 Nook Miles.
