There are plenty of shells to go around in the sea, but some are way better than others. Check out the best shells in Another Crab's Treasure and be prepared for every battle.
Top 6 Best Shells in Another Crab's Treasure
In order to get all of the achievements in the game, you have to find all the shells and wear them. However, you won't be using all of them in your playthrough, as some are pretty useless or there are better versions of them. Check out the most useful Shells in Another Crab's Treasure and make sure to get shell insurance for them!
Yoccult Shell in Another Crab's Treasure
Yoccult Shell has been my personal favorite throughout the game and has carried me through many boss fights. It's medium weight so it doesn't affect your dodging abilities much, and it's a sturdy shell that can take quite a few hits before it's broken.
This shell is super useful because it can heal you up. It doesn't even use up the shell health. So long as it's on your back, you can heal yourself whenever you have Umami charges.
The better version of this shell is the Pill Bottle, but you only encounter it pretty late into the game, while the Yoccult Shell can be found in areas after the Sands Between, making it more accessible.

Cascadia Roll Shell in Another Crab's Treasure
Cascadia Roll is another great healing shell. While I do prefer Yoccult, Cascadia can be very useful in a bind. This is a shell that will take off its own health to heal you. While it can be used up pretty quickly, this roll also boosts your Umami damage.
It works great in a fight as a momentary shell to quickly heal yourself and then switch to a different shell you can find nearby. You can also switch to the Snail Sanctum shell which is made of Umami and you get this shell after you defeat the False Moon boss in the Unfathom, once your crew and Roland fall down the Drain.
Cascadia Rolls are prevalent in the Expired Grove area, especially in Curdled Village and Village Gates areas, but you'll be able to find them randomly in other areas after, too.
Soda Can Shell in Another Crab's Treasure
Soda Can shell can be found in the environment from early game already and it has one of the best attack abilities. It releases pressurized air in the form of bubbles which will target the closest enemy. If you are in danger in close combat, you can use this to disengage and recuperate.
It doesn't have a lot of health, but it is pretty common, so you can usually find a lot of them in the area. The Valve shell has the same ability and a lot more health, but it is heavy, which greatly affects your dodging abilities. That's why I stick to the Soda can for more mobility at the price of less health.
Gacha Capsule Shell in Another Crab's Treasure
The Gacha Capsule is a lightweight shell with little health but great abilities. It can roll over quickly to cover great distances and deal damage to enemies if you smack into them. You can use this skill to dodge attacks that you can't dodge differently or just attack the enemy head-on.
Once you are using the rolling ability, you are pretty much invulnerable, which is useful in boss fights. I found this to be one of the best shells to use in the fight against Roland. If you can handle the speed, then this shell is perfect for you.
This shells appears for the first time when you are going against Roland and after that you can find it anywhere.

Tissue Box Shell in Another Crab's Treasure
A necessity in all of the Flotsam Vale gunk, the Tissue Box Shell will remove all negative effects from you like gunked, which slows you down and lowers your health. Apart from just removing the effects, the box will also boost your health slightly. This is a heavy shell, however, so take into consideration that dodging abilities will be limited.
You can find the Tissue Box Shell across Flotsam, but they'll be available in other areas too.
Rubber Duck Shell in Another Crab's Treasure
If you're getting swarmed by enemies (which they love to do) and start panicking, then the Rubber Duck shell is what you need. When you use its decoy ability, it will jump off your back and aggro all of the enemies for a brief time until it is destroyed. This is mostly a one-time-use shell for getting out of dangerous situations, so try to scout a backup nearby.
The Duck is available in Flotsam Vale first, but you can find it everywhere afterwards.
