Full Arc Raiders Battening Down Quest Guide
Battening Down is another new quest in the Riven Tides update, handed to you by everyone's favorite bombmaster, Apollo. He wants you to examine the shoreline and to do some important work for the raiders' operation topside in order to complete the quest. The three tasks include photographing the cracks in the seawall, sampling the shoreline near the hotel beach, and fixing the leaking oil pipe in the northeast of Riven Tides. Read on as we explain how to complete all three.
How to Fix the Leaking Oil Pipe in the Northeast
Keep in mind that you don't have to complete these three tasks in any chronological order, but for the sake of simplicity, we will follow them in the order they are listed in the Arc Raiders Battening Down quest. First stop, the leaking oil pipe in the northeast of Riven Tides. Here's where to find the leaking oil pipe.
- Head to the Wavebreaker POI (a massive wall that spans the length of the shore).
- Reach the area between the two easternmost crosswalls (forming the letter “H” when looking at the map).
- Looking toward the ocean, in the sand between the two walls, you'll see two massive oil pipes side by side, reaching toward the ocean and partially buried in sand.
- Reach the small, isolated segment of the two pipes that is nearest to the wall (the part surrounded by sand on both sides).
- When you approach it, you'll see a small leak.
- Approach it, and a prompt to REPAIR PIPELINE will appear.
- Complete the interaction, and the task is complete!

How to Photograph the Cracks Forming in the Seawall
Now comes, at least for me, the trickiest task in the Arc Raiders Battening Down questline. You will need to find the location of the cracks forming in the seawall. My first assumption was that I needed to check the Wavebreaker POI for this, but that wasn't actually the right location. Here's where you actually need to go to complete this part:
- In-game, open the Riven Tides map and search for the Port Authority Building POI.
- Approach the Port Authority Building from the southeast (the side facing the Stacking Yard POI).
- At the base of the building, there are three massive concrete pillars supporting the upper section.
- Reach the middle concrete pillar.
- You should be prompted to TAKE PHOTO.
- Complete the interaction, and the Photograph the Cracks Forming in the Seawall task will be completed!

How to Sample the Shoreline Near the Hotel Beach
Finally, let’s tackle the last (in terms of how it’s listed) task of the Arc Raiders Battening Down quest. For the final step, you’ll need to sample the shoreline near the Hotel Beach. Sounds easy enough, but embarrassingly for me, it took me a lot more time to find it than I’d like to admit. If you don’t want to waste time as I did, here’s how to find the shoreline sample location on the Riven Tides map in Arc Raiders:
- While in a match on Riven Tides, open the map and find the Azzurro Beach POI on the northwest side of the map.
- Head to Azzurro (Hotel) Beach (make sure to loot boxes there, you can find some ship models for the new map event).
- From the hotel beach, pass the white-orange sunshades and head toward the Seabed POI.
- You'll notice that the sand changes color (from dry beach sand to slightly darker, wet sand). That's the dried-up seabed.
- When you step on that wet sand, look for patches of seaweed.
- Approach any seaweed patch, and a prompt saying SAMPLE SEAWEED should appear.
- Complete the interaction to sample the shoreline near the hotel beach.

Battening Down Quest FAQs
No, this is not a single-round quest. You can complete each task in a different round, if you wish (or if that's what it takes).
The sample is actually seaweed on the seabed POI. Reach the seabed in front of the Hotel Beach POI, and find any patch of seaweed to sample it.
The seawall for the Battening Down quest is actually not the Wavebreaker POI on Riven Tides. It is actually the southeast wall of the Port Authority Building POI.
Reach the easternmost part of the Wavebreaker POI and look for the two massive pipes covered by sand. Approach them to repair them and complete this task.
The Hotel Beach is actually the Azzurro Beach POI, because that's the name of the hotel.
You will receive the Riven Tides Hotel Keycard NO. 107 and three Smoke Grenade Traps.
