5. Ichthyosaurus

While Ichthyosaurus is no match against most water-based dinosaurs, it has advantages. Firstly, you can tame it easily by feeding it multiple times. Now that you have your water dino, you can use it to explore the area, acquire resources, and improve as you have bigger fish to fry. If you're not sure which dino should be your next target, experiment in solo mode by using Ark ASA console commands.

4. Basilosaurus

Basilosaurus will not bring destruction but is a literal underwater fort that is hard to crack. It will keep you safe and warm (gives increased insulation), which is especially important in the early stages. That said, there are more dangerous options, but not many are tanks like Basil.

3. Plesiosaurus

Many players would pick Mosasaurus as an ultimate underwater weapon, but I find it too slow for PvP. I prefer using Plesiosaurus as it offers similar firepower with siege weapons and heavy cannons but with more maneuverability. Although it's very deadly, depending on your style, you may want to try some dinos that offer unique combat abilities.

2. Megalodon

You may find more dangerous water-based dinosaurs in ARK Survival Ascended, but not one is as cool as Megalodon. But Meg is more than that! Its damage applies bleed, which is very useful in PVP battles. The hit-and-run tactic works excellently, especially with the help of other shark riders from your tribe. Don't forget to craft the Megalodon Saddle, improving Meg's combat prowess.

What's not to like with Tusoteuthis's speed, maneuverability, and giant tentacles? If you are unsure if Tuso is the ultimate choice, try to find me in the picture above. See that blimp on its back? That's me! Now tell me that's not cool. Add to that long rage tentacle attacks that allow for grab attack that saps even the biggest creatures of their health.
