Armored Core 6 Sea Spider Boss Guide

Eight-legged freaks!

The Sea Spider is one of the more difficult bosses you'll encounter in Armored Core 6. With its few, but deadly array of moves and a Coral-powered heavy laser cannon as a turret head, it's easy to be overwhelmed by its arsenal. Thankfully, there are a few things you can do that will dramatically reduce the difficulty for this overgrown metal arachnoid, and I'm more than happy to give you a few pointers. I've trivialized this boss several times over, so here's everything you need to know on how to beat it.

Armored Core 6 Sea Spider Build Guide

In AC6, the build you use to face off against Rubicon's worst is incredibly important, and for the Sea Spider, that is no exception. There are tons of builds and setups that work against Sea Spider, but the most important factor in most of them is speed. As such, I highly recommend tailoring a lightweight AC build for speed and maneuverability when facing off against the Sea Spider to take advantage of its sluggish movements.

For weapons, I recommend any combination of shotguns for all four slots. If you don't have the parts or space to do so, then just shotguns on your left and right hands will do the trick. Shotguns deal heavy AP and Impact damage, making them ideal weapons for fighting the Sea Spider. Simple, right? That's because Sea Spider is a lot simpler than you think to fight.

Armored Core 6 Sea Spider Strategy

The Sea Spider encounter is a two-phase fight, with the second phase beginning just after it reaches roughly 45% health. Let's break both phases down.

Sea Spider Phase One

Phase One is the hardest part of the fight due to the giant laser cannon Sea Spider uses constantly during it. However, the laser cannon is also a slow-moving turret, which you can take advantage of with the lightweight mech you've built. The cannon mouth with turn bright red when it is about to fire. When you see this, fly as close as you can to the Sea Spider and strafe around it at high speed. The cannon will not be able to keep up with you, and you can unload your shotguns with very little danger.

When you're close to the Sea Spider, it will attempt to crush you with a powerful body slam. This move has a very obvious tell in that the boss will float into the air and come flying toward you. Avoid this by flying to the side or through the gap below it while it's mid-air.

Sea Spider Phase 2

When the boss has reached 45% or so, it will become permanently airborne for the rest of the encounter.

The Sea Spider gains access to a powerful air-to-ground cannon now—avoid it when you see the warning indicator show up. Additionally, it will attempt you blast with a body-bound shotgun when you get close. The move has terrible accuracy, so the core strategy for this phase is to stay as close as possible to the boss and continue pounding away with your shotguns. Yes, it's that easy.

Sea Spider gains access to an extremely powerful laser attack that can only hit you if you're grounded, so, again, if you just stay close to it, you'll be just fine. Repeat the process I've just stated, and you'll destroy the Sea Spider without breaking a sweat.
