Baldur’s Gate 3 Find Your Belongings Quest Bugged – Fix

Yep, it's still bugged!

It's been more than three years since Baldur's Gate 3 was released in early access form, and it's certainly come a long way. But specific bugs still seem to persist, sometimes ruining the otherwise perfect RPG experience for the players. One such bug appears to be the Find your belongings quest, which I remember from the early access period. Our guide will explain this annoying bug in further detail and explain if there's any way that you can fix it.

Unfortunately, there is currently no fix for the Find Your Belongings Quest Bug in Baldur's Gate 3. Until the developers at Larian Studios release a patch or a hotfix for this issue, no solution offers a full-proof fix for this problem.

There seem to be multiple points at which the objective scripts can break with this quest, but it is still possible to circumvent them, completing the quest successfully. Make sure you save your game before attempting this quest, as you may have to reset it multiple times. Doing things in this order has worked for me, so try to follow these steps accurately:

  • Speak with Mattis to get your stuff stolen. Do not follow after him, as you won't be able to fit in the crevice. While Disguise Self action may work for you, it appears to be bugged, so I advise against it.
  •  Return down the stairs, pass the Druids, and walk up to Mirkon on the Secluded Cove.
  •  Rescue the boy from the Harpy's grip by defeating her. As a reward, Mirkon will give you a secret password to enter the Dragon's Lair.
  • Speak to Doni near the place where you were robbed. Choose "Doni, isn't it? I want to see the Dragon's Lair." dialogue option.
  • Once inside, speak to Mol using a character with high enough Persuasion or Intimidation. Choose "I'm shy a few of my belongings - one of your associates robbed me."
  •  As a next dialogue option, you can either pay the fee to Mol or pass an Intimidation or a Persuasion check to get your stuff back.
  • Pass an additional Intelligence check for the secret sign.

If the method above didn't work for you, there is an alternative way of getting into the Dragon's Lair, possibly avoiding some quest-breaking glitches. Instead of rescuing Mirkon from the Harpy, you can use a character with high Perception, like Astarion. Follow the steps below:

  • After speaking to Mattis at the beginning of the quest, talk with Doni. He will stare behind your character. Choose the option to turn back. At this point, you must pass the Perception check. If you're successful, he will disappear, but you will notice a locked hatch hidden in the bushes.
  • Choose Long Rest from the camp menu.
  • Speak to Doni using Astarion. Use the Insight option "Where the hells did you disappear to before?" Pass the check.
  • Use the Persuasion option "Is it a chest? A door? Can you show me where it is?" Pass the check to gain access to the Dragon's Lair.

Note that while this solution has worked for me and some other players online, it doesn't guarantee that it will work for you. Let us know in the comments section whether you succeeded with either of these two approaches.
