In Baldur's Gate 3, players will find plenty of magical weapons and items like rings, amulets, armor, gloves, and cloaks which can significantly improve their build. Some of these items are easier to obtain, while others require fighting tough enemies. One such item is the Silver Sword of the Astral Plane—a legendary greatsword. Here is how you can get it in BG3.
Where to find the Silver Sword of the Astral Plane in BG3
The Silver Sword of the Astral Plane is given by the Kith'rak Voss who can be found at Undercity Ruins. To reach this location, use the City Sewers at the Lower City. (Check the map image above and follow the yellow arrows to find the precise location.)
The Kith'rak Voss will be inside a room (X:-72 Y:824); to enter you can lockpick the door using Sleight of Hand. Once inside, start a conversation with Voss. Show him the Orphic Hammer by choosing the right dialogue option ("I've retrieved the Hammer"). (Check the image above to see the dialogue options while interacting with the Voss.)
After this, he will hand you the Silver Sword of the Astral Plane and ask your character to free Orpheus (the Githiyanki Prince trapped in the Astral Plane by the Emperor). Meanwhile, the Emperor will know of your betrayal because of the tadpole inside your head.
The Orphic Hammer is a necessity to get the sword from Kith'rak Voss and the easiest way to get it is by signing Raphael's deal. Raphael will be waiting on the upper floor of Sharess' Caress building (X: 24 Y: 80) located north of the South Span of Wyrm's crossing waypoint.
If you sign the contract, the devil will give you the Orphic Hammer you need to use if you plan on saving Orpheus. If you choose to not take this deal, there is another way of getting the Orphic Hammer.
Visit House of Hope (the devil's dominion) and enter the Archives Room located on the left-hand side from the entrance area. The Orphic Hammer will be sealed with a magic spell inside this room. However, if you signed the deal, you will already have the hammer and will find the contract instead.
The Silver Sword of the Astral Plane bonuses in BG3
- Soulbreaker: Rend the enemy's body and soul, and possibly Stun them.
- Githborne Psionic Weapon: When wielded by a githyanki this weapon deals an additional 1-6 Psychic damage.
- Githborn Psionic Resistance: A githyanki holding this weapon has Advantage on Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma Saving Throws, Resistance to Psychic damage, and cannot be Charmed.
- Weapon Enchantment: +3
