In Baldur's Gate 3, you must make various decisions that can alter the course of the narrative. After visiting the Githyanki Creche, you'll interact with Queen Vlaakith who orders your character to assassinate the Dream Visitor from the Astral Plane. This is where you have to make a choice whether to side with or kill the Dream Visitor. Naturally, you need to know the right choices in this situation. Here's what you should do with the Dream Visitor in the Astral Plane in Baldur's Gate 3.
What to do with the Dream Visitor and Vlaakith Githyanki Queen in Baldur's Gate 3?
After visiting the Githyanki Creche and speaking to Vlaakith, she orders you to visit the Astral Plane and slay the Dream Visitor. Disobeying the Githyanki queen can be dangerous, and Lae'zel will disapprove if you don't bow in her presence. I would recommend acquiescing to Queen Vlaakith's commands and communicating with Lae'zel through the tadpole. You will eventually need to visit the Astral Plane to kill or side with the Dream Visitor.
Vlaakith commands you to stay in the area until the Dream Visitor is dead, although you have a choice to leave it. However, leaving the area will change Lae'zel's allegiance, and she will become hostile towards your party. It's ideal to stay in the area and travel to the Astral Plane to speak to the Dream Visitor. This way, you can inform Lae'zel about Vlaakith's deception, and keep her in your party.
The Dream Visitor is a character who saves you while falling from the Nautiloid, and this is your character's Guardian. This character comes into your dreams and informs you about the Absolute, and also speaks about the Grand Design. The Astral Prism in Shadowheart's possession is the key to interacting with this character. You can choose whether to eliminate or side with them after visiting the Astral Plane. The Dream Visitor informs you about Vlaakith's deception and says that they stole the Astral Prism from the queen of the Githyanki.

The Dream Visitor presents you with a situation, where they lay down their arms at your mercy. You can choose to execute the Dream Visitor, but I would highly recommend not to do so. The dialogue options presented in this situation will include the options shown in the image above. You can select the "Get up - You won't die today" option to side with the Dream Visitor. This means you'll automatically betray Vlaakith, and the Githyanki would turn against you. If you side with the Dream Visitor and betray Vlaakith, you'll need to face all the Githyanki enemies in the Creche.
Alternatively, you can choose the "A goddess asked me to kill you.." dialogue option to slay the Dream Visitor. However, the Dream Visitor would simply come back to life as this is a magical mirage created by the character. If you choose to kill this character, it comes back. Killing this character would make it distrust you, so it's best to avoid this outcome. Remember, without the Dream Visitor, your character would become a mind flayer. Either way, after returning to the Creche, you will face the Githyanki warriors in combat.
