To change the fire mode of your weapon, press "V" on the keyboard or "Down on D-Pad" on your controller. These are the default controls to cycle fire mode in Battlefield 2042. You can change it by following the steps below:

- Select the "Key Bindings" tab and head over to the "On Foot" column.
- Scroll down until you find "Fire Mode." Modify the control for your desired input method, i.e., keyboard, mouse, or controller.

- Full-Auto Mode: Normal crosshair with four vertical lines around the center dot.
- Burst-Fire Mode: Small lines between the four vertical lines and the center dot.
- Single-Fire Mode: Crosshair will only have three vertical lines around the center dot. The top line doesn't appear.
