How to get mods for Bonelab on Quest 2 and PC

Make the metaverse fun with mods.

Bonelab is a popular VR game that came from Boneworks. The game is pretty much a sandbox to let players decide what they'd like to do. Fortunately for the players, Bonelab supports plenty of mods that can change the game to anyone's liking.

How to download mods for Bonelab on PC and Quest 2

You can download mods for anything. Custom avatars, maps, guns, and every other object in the game The official way to download mods for Bonelab is through mod.io website, whether you're downloading mods for PC or Quest 2.

Downloading the mods

Head to mod.io and click browse games, search for Bonelab, and find the mod you want to download. Once you've found a mod, you will see a Live files dropdown menu on the right side of the page. If you're downloading the mod for Quest 2, choose Android. If for PC, choose Windows. There you will find a link, just click it, and the mod will start downloading. After downloading, you will have a .zip file that you can unzip by right-clicking on it.

Installing the mods

If you're installing it on a PC, you will need to locate the Bonelab mods folder. For this, open Run and type %appdata% or simply navigate to C:\Users\[username]\AppData\LocalLow\Stress Level Zero\BONELAB\Mod, and paste the unzipped mod file there. 

If installing it on your Quest 2, connect your Quest 2 with a USB-C cable. Head to the mod folder at ThisPC\Quest2\Internalsharedstorage\Android\data\com.StressLevelZero.BONELAB\files\Mods and paste the unzipped mod file there.

After this, simply launch Bonelab on your PC or Quest 2, select Mods, then Downloads on the main menu. You will be prompted to allow the use of mods; simply accept, and you're done. 

Best Bonelab mods

The best Bonelab mods include the GTA Vice City and San Andreas maps, LabWorks, which intends to port the Bonelab campaign to a sequel, and a couple of avatar mods such as the Iron Giant and Titanfall 2 avatars. For more highly rated Bonelab mods, check out the top-rated mods on mod.io.
