Every Call of Duty game is based on a live-service model that pushes out regular seasonal updates. Subsequently, Call of Duty: Vanguard will also receive several seasonal content drops throughout its life cycle, which is roughly one year.

Seasonal updates for CoD: Vanguard will last until the next CoD title is released. Looking at the last few games in the franchise, it can be concluded that Vanguard should have a total of six seasons. Each season lasts for around two months and brings numerous in-game rewards and challenges.

The content and items that come with each update range from cosmetics to balancing fixes. Here's what you can expect from a new season of CoD: Vanguard:
- Multiplayer Maps - New and remastered
- Weapons
- Battle Pass
- Game Modes
- Cosmetics - Operator skins, weapon blueprints, weapon charms, calling cards, emblems, etc.
- Limited-time Events
- Zombies content - Maps, modes, etc.
- Other minor and major patches throughout the season including bug fixes, rework, and weapon balancing
Apart from these, significant changes are also made to Warzone Pacific when a new update goes live. Since Vanguard and Warzone share a unified progression, every item from the above list is added to Warzone as well.
