Call of Duty: Warzone has seen several changes, positive and negative, in its four-year life cycle. The game was all the hype when it was released back in 2020 as it offered a varied and fresh take on the Battle Royale genre. However, some players now believe the game has strayed far from the original Battle Royale concept.
Traditionally in a Battle Royale game, a group of players are left in an environment to compete against one another, and the last person standing wins. Warzone did exactly that and attracted massive player numbers; furthermore, it also became the first and only free-to-play Call of Duty title. One of the main highlights of the game was the redeployment feature, which meant dead teammates could be brought back into the match just by spending some cash. However, players aren't liking the severe extension of this mechanic in the game's current state.
User GloriousFlame posted a video on Reddit showing a gameplay clip in the final circle of Warzone. You can notice how the players kept on using flares and portable buy stations to redeploy their teammates back. Moreover, the ability to carry multiple self-revives in your backpack also keeps putting downed players back into the fight like nothing happened.
Skyline commented in the thread, "We have Resurgence. Why do we need so many regains on normal BR?" I couldn't agree more. These redeployment features are good only up to some extent in a Battle Royale. If the developers really want to keep these mechanics in the game, Resurgence game mode is the best place for it.
Battle Royale needs some serious rework before the next big Black Ops 6 integration happens later this year. Some improvements can be made to the redeployment system; for instance, how often a player can get redeployed, how late into a match the redeployment stops, flare spawn limitations, and rendering portable buy stations unusable in the gas.
