Best Quickscope Sniper and Attachments in MW3

One shot, one kill.

If you're able to access the Modern Warfare 3, you'll see it allows you to choose between two Sniper Rifles. You have the Longbow and KV Inhibitor in the beta, but there will be many more in the official release. Both of them can be used to quickscope, and there's no reason to not give them both a try, but one sniper does seem a bit better than the other.

Of the two, the KV Inhibitor seems like the better one for quickscoping. Obviously, a lot of this comes down to personal preference, but the Inhibitor feels more satisfying to use. The Inhibitor comes with a 10 bullet clip, down from the massive 30 bullet magazine featured in the Longbow. It is semi-auto versus bolt-action, which are typically known to be better at quickscoping, however.

As for attachments, here's a list of ones that work best for the KV Inhibitor. If you find yourself not liking the feel of the gun with this loadout, feel free to make some changes. You can have five modifications on your sniper at a time, and here's what worked best for us.

  • Weapon: KV Inhibitor
  • Barrel: KAS-7 Integrated Suppressor
  • Underbarrel: XTEN TX-12 Handstop
  • Rear Grip: Ivanov ST-70 Grip
  • Optic: KR V4 1X Riser
  • Stock: Heavy Stock Support

You can't fill out all of the slots with the Inhibitor, so you definitely want to experiment with many attachments, but these ones seem solid. They prioritize aiming down sights fast, and that's something that's very important when using your sniper for quickscoping. As more snipers come out, the best quickscoping sniper is almost certain to change, but this looks to be the early winner.

Are bolt-action snipers better for quickscoping in MW3?

Generally speaking, bolt-action snipers have been better for quickscoping thanks to their higher damage. As nerfs and buffs happen, we're likely to see the best quickscoping sniper change.

Using the Longbow equipped with the SA-M Quickbolt attachment is very powerful, for example. The official release will likely give us a much better look at how wide the gap is between semi-auto and bolt-action snipers.
