6 Best SMGs in Warzone (MW3), ranked

Top SMGs in Warzone Season 1!

With a variety of weapons available in Call of Duty: Warzone, you may be wondering which weapons to use in the game. Follow the list below for the best SMGs to run as your secondary weapon.

Top 8 SMGs in Warzone Season 2

1. AMR9

The AMR9 is one of the most OP weapons in Warzone Season 2 due to its absurdly low TTK in short to medium-range (i.e. 0-20 meters) gunfights. It beats even the new weapon RAM-9, which is also another broken weapon in terms of damage.

The only big downside of using the AMR9 is its sprint-to-fire speed, meaning you need to focus on building this weapon to increase that stat. A much lower sprint-to-fire speed will allow you to fire the AMR9 much quicker while you're sprinting and slide-cancelling.

2. WSP-9

The WSP-9 received a massive nerf in Season 2, increasing its TTK by 100 milliseconds, which may not seem like much, but it's a huge deal in a competitive FPS game. Other stats are still the same, so you'll still benefit from its fast move speed, ADS move speed, sprint-to-fire, and tac sprint speed, making it an ideal choice for players who are movement demons in Warzone.

If you want to lower the TTK time of the WSP-9, you'll have to sacrifice most of your movement speed by using the Optac Long Barrel attachment. However, I do not recommend doing this since you'll strip out the WSP-9 of what makes it special.

3. HRM-9

Although the HRM-9 got some nerfs in Warzone Season 2, it's still an amazing gun, especially if you build it for mobility. It's basically the WSP-9 with a tad lower mobility speed and damage. You can even boost the HRM-9's sprint-to-fire speed to 81 ms, with an ADS time of 192 ms.

For the setup, I recommend using the ZEHMN35, Thorn-90, Folding Stock, and the DR-6 Handstop. These attachments will immensely help you with sudden and quick gunfights, allowing you to turn the tides against enemies who may pre-aim your corner.

4. RAM-9

RAM-9 is one of the newest weapons in Season 2 of Warzone, and it's definitely made an impact in the meta of Warzone 2. It has a low TTK and fast bullet velocity, making it a decent SMG for any range, depending on your build. I put it lower than the WSP-9 because it doesn't have the same mobility as the WSP-9.

Like the AMR9, it shares the same weakness with its slow sprint-to-fire speed, albeit the RAM-9 is a bit faster. Overall, the RAM-9 is a very versatile gun since you can also use it at long ranges like an assault rifle, but I recommend you use a short-medium range build and have a Sniper as your primary weapon.

5. Striker 9

The Striker 9 is one of the best yet underrated SMGs in Warzone 2. Although it looks like an assault rifle, it's very mobile, only falling behind the HRM-9. I suggest you build the Striker 9 for mobility since you'll be up against HRM-9s and WSP-9s, making it difficult for you to keep up with their massively fast movement speed.

The Striker 9 stands out with its gunfight range capability compared to other competing SMGs, and I highly recommend you give it a try since it's a very viable gun in competitive Warzone as well.

6. Striker

The Striker is generally an okay gun. It doesn't excel anywhere except in bullet velocity, but then again, it only rivals the Striker 9 and the WSP-9. Unfortunately, It's a gun that got lost in the mix and I recommend you only use this for camo grinds in the current meta.

7. Rival-9

The Rival-9 SMG is a good weapon for Warzone, but it sits low on the list as the other options available in this gun category perform better overall. It's definitely an amazing weapon for Ranked multiplayer in MW3, but falls short against other options. Regardless, you can give this weapon build a try and see if you like it.

8. WSP Swarm

Although the WSP Swarm is one of the best guns in Season 1, it falls short in the update due to other guns receiving various buffs. Its crazy recoil also does not help it with medium-ranged gunfights, whereas other guns on the list excel at various ranges. You can still give this gun a try if you like bringing Smoke Grenades and getting up close and personal in gunfights.
