DMZ Go for a Drive Phalanx Mission – Hard Drive Locations (Map)

Find the drive, and deposit it in the dead drop.

In Call of Duty DMZ, you have to complete story missions for different factions, and some of them require you to get rare items like Encrypted Hard Drives. Go For a Drive is a Tier 3 faction mission for Phalanx where you have to complete three objectives on the Vondel map. The Encrypted Hard Drive is essential for this mission, and you need to know the exact locations for finding this item. Here's how to complete the Go For a Drive mission in DMZ.

Go For a Drive is a Tier 3 mission for Phalanx that unlocks after you reach Reputation Level 10 with the faction. As mentioned, there are three objectives in this mission, out of which two need to be completed on the Vondel map.

  • Acquire an Encrypted Hard Drive
  • Drive a Chop Top in Vondel for two consecutive minutes while carrying the Encrypted Hard Drive
  • Deliver the Hard Drive to the dead drop at the Zoo

Where to find Encrypted Hard Drives (Map)

Encrypted Hard Drives are special items in DMZ that do not have a specific spawn location. Your best bet is to find Encrypted Hard Drives by searching Supply Drops, computers, houses, loot caches, locked containers, and other spots. As you can see from the first image above, I found an Encrypted Hard Drive by looting a Supply Drop. Likewise, I found another one of these special items inside a house in Al Mazrah.

For Vondel, I would recommend searching locked spaces like the Aquarium, Cruise Terminal, City Hall, Museum, Castle, and University to find Encrypted Hard Drives. You can also take control of SAM Sites to bring down the Chopper Commander. The Commander drops a supply cache which often has an Encrypted Hard Drive, along with other essentials like Gold Bars and Gold Skulls.

After acquiring the Encrypted Hard Drive, you need to find a Chop Top vehicle on the Vondel map. Make sure the Encrypted Hard Drive is in your backpack as you drive around the Chop Top in Vondel for about two minutes. I would recommend just starting the car engine and waiting at a remote location instead of blindly driving around the POIs. This will help you complete the mission objectives quickly without engaging enemy operators.

Once you have completed the second objective, take the Encrypted Hard Drive to the Vondel Zoo dead drop. I used the Zoo dead drop to deposit ISO Hemlocks during the Disarming Presence mission. Check the yellow arrow on the map image above to see the exact location of the Zoo dead drop on Vondel. Get to this location, and submit the Encrypted Hard Drive inside the dead drop to complete the Go for a Drive mission in DMZ.
