What is the storyline of Modern Warfare 2?

The storyline of Modern Warfare 2 picks up after the events of the 2019 title. Task Force 141 features iconic characters like Captain John Price, John “Soap” MacTavish, Simon “Ghost” Riley, and Kyle “Gaz” Garrick. The plot revolves around stolen U.S. ballistic missiles involving a drug cartel and a foreign extremist group. The villains plan to launch a full-scale missile attack against the United States, and this is where Task Force 141 steps in as the champion of law and order. The game will take players to various continents and countries, fighting alongside various military regiments.
