Gamers looking to excel in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 are going to want to mess around with the keybinds a bit. Every player has different preferences as to which keys they like for which actions.

Fortunately, changing the keybinds for MW3 is a quick process. You can fix these up fairly quickly before hopping on multiplayer or campaign.

Where to change keybinds on CoD MW3

Changing the keybinds on CoD MW3 is as simple as going to the settings and looking up the buttons for each action. You can find the settings tab by clicking on the cog wheel that's on the top-right of the main lobby screen. Here is the process for changing the keybinds:

  1. Open the Settings from the main lobby
  2. Click on the "Keyboard & Mouse" option
  3. Find the desired action
  4. Click on whichever button that action currently has equipped
  5. Press the desired button for that action

You can rinse and repeat this for every action in the game, from going prone to aiming. Even if you don't feel like changing any of the controls, it's still a good idea to view the keybinds tab so that you know which button does what. Players coming from console to PC should definitely figure out what the button layout is.

Many gamers out there claim that there is an optimal button layout. At the end of the day, it comes down to player preference. I recommend keeping the general directions at WASD though (W for up, S for down, A for left, and D for right). This layout is just a comfortable way for your left hand to control character movement.
