How to find a Mangler in MW3 Zombies

Easy ways to track one down...

Manglers are a type of elite zombie in MWZ, one you'll likely need to defeat at some point due to the missions and objectives associated with them. Here's how you can find a Mangler in MWZ.

Where to find a Mangler in MW3 Zombies

There are two methods that I recommend using to find a Mangler for any challenges you may have. The first is heading to the Threat Zone (yellow and red areas on the map) that circles and surrounds the center of the Exclusion Zone. Since Manglers are elite, you're more likely to encounter elite zombies in large amounts the further toward the center of the map you go. There is no specific location where a Mangler will spawn, so you'll have to do a bit of patrolling to find one. While this is an effective method for finding Manglers, it's risky due to the presence of other zombies.

If you're looking for a safer route to find a Mangler, you can also run Bounty Contracts. Bounty Contracts always target elite zombies near your location, and since Manglers are elite, you are guaranteed to find one with this method eventually. For me, it took only two Bounty Contracts to locate one to kill. This is the method I recommend most, as you have a significantly lower chance of dying while doing it, and you know what enemies to expect.

How to fight a Mangler in MW3 Zombies

Manglers are elite zombies, which means they have a few special features you should know about before engaging them. Typically, they mostly utilize ranged, energy attacks from their left arms. Due to this ranged focus, Manglers won't often attempt to melee you which means you can abuse their lack of range and kite them out. Their cannon attacks are slow but cover a large area, so the ideal way to face a Mangler is to shoot them while staying just far enough out of range of their cannon.

I also recommend bringing an armored vehicle to the fight to make it even easier. Vehicles deal significant damage to all zombies, including elites. If the Mangler is inside a building, try to lure it outside for vehicular zombie slaughter.
