In 2023, Call of Duty: Warzone The Haunting update introducesd brand-new challenges, rewards, and POI changes. There's one returning feature that is arguably the most popular BR game mode though—Zombie Royale.
How does Zombie Royale work in Warzone?
Zombie Royale is a Trios Battle Royale game mode available in CoD Warzone for a limited time. It will be played on the night-time versions of the Al Mazrah and Vondel maps, the latter termed Vondead. In Zombie Royale, players drop onto the map as alive operators, but upon death, they're transformed into undead Zombies with special power-ups.
As a Zombie, your objective is to secure four antiviral syringes to redeploy back as an operator. These vials can be obtained by killing operators and looting supply boxes. Just keep an eye on your tac map and it'll mark the nearby vials for you.

Zombies have three abilities that refresh over time once used:
- Charged Jump: Hold the input to charge up your super jump and release it to perform it.
- Gas Grenade: Throw a Gas Grenade tactical that causes blurred vision and slowed movement.
- Fury: It applies the Battle Rage effect to improve your health regen speed and tac sprint reset.
If you die as a Zombie, your team will have to redeploy you back from a buy station for $3000. Even if you're dead, I suggest you stay in the match as every spectator respawns back as a Zombie when the Infestation Meter on the top-center of your screen hits zero. Furthermore, if you manage to perform a finishing move on an operator, you'll redeploy immediately. Just like the regular Battle Royale modes, the last team of live operators on the map wins the Zombie Royale match.
