How to unlock red dot sight in MW2

With the multiplayer finally dropping for MW2, the race has begun to find the best perks and attachments for each weapon. A large aspect of each gun in the game is its optic, as some are simply easier to aim with than others. One of the best optics in any Call of Duty game is a red dot since red is usually easy to pick out against most backgrounds. Here is how to unlock it the red dot sight in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2.

How to unlock different optics in MW2

Earning different optics (or any attachment, for that matter) in MW2 requires some grinding. Players will need to get a particular gun (or set of guns) to a certain level to obtain a specific optic. Players can head to their armory, find their desired class, and press the Optic button to find out how to do this.

Available optics will be laid out here, and by scrolling to the right, players can find all the other optics that have yet to be unlocked. Furthermore, if a player scrolls onto an optic still locked, the description on the left will show the requirements for unlocking it: this is referred to as a platform.

For example, it's nice to look at the M4 since it's popular in every Call of Duty entry. The M4 can equip the Cronen Mini Red Dot. To do so, gamers will need to follow these steps:

• grind up the M4 to level 13 (unlocks the FTAC Recon Battle Rifle)
• grind up the FTAC Recon Battle Rifle to level 16 (which unlocks the FSS Hurricane)
• grind up the FSS Hurricane to level 3

Once this is done, all weapons on that platform will have access to the Cronen Mini Red Dot. Players will have to grind up the requisite weapons to unlock it on a different platform.
