Call of Duty: Warzone and MW3 received a minor update today that fixed some bugs and made other small improvements. In addition to these small changes, the developers tweaked a popular weapon.
Players have been enjoying the DG-58 LSW LMG as their go-to long-range weapon for quite some time now. Paired with a fast TTK (time-to-kill) SMG, this gun is made for the ultimate meta loadout in Warzone, but I'm afraid that will not be the case after today's weapon adjustments.
Raven Software has made significant reductions to the damage ranges of the DG-58 LSW. After testing out the weapon in-game, I can assure you it is no longer the meta weapon option for long range combat in Warzone.
The LMG doesn't feel as powerful because of the reduced range effectiveness and is overshadowed by its competitors (for instance, the Holger 26 LMG, the SVA 545 AR, and the Pulemyot 762 LMG). These guns, although not as accurate as the DG-58 LSW, eliminate your opponents faster due to better TTK stats.
This change wasn't necessary. There are very few full-auto long range guns that are competitive enough to be used in Warzone's current state where snipers like the newly introduced Kar98k are wreaking havoc. Instead, other Assault Rifles and Light Machine Guns should've been buffed to meet the DG-58's standards, giving players more full-auto weapons to play with.
