Ever since Verdansk was replaced by Caldera, there has been an outcry in the Call of Duty: Warzone community to bring the original map back. While we've seen some good large-scale Battle Royale maps like Al Mazrah and Urzikstan, everyone has been hoping the developers reintroduce the map that started the whole thing off. If the new leaks are to be believed, the fan-favorite map may be returning in 2025.
The news was recently shared on Twitter by BobNetworkUK, a reputable leaker who has a great track record of accurate disclosures of upcoming changes in Call of Duty games. They have received information that the Verdansk map, which was previously speculated to come out with Black Ops 6 - Warzone integration, will now arrive "during mid-lifecycle of Black Ops 6" (i.e., 2025).
It was earlier rumored that Verdansk may be coming back, but now with even more leaks by reputable sources like BobNetworkUK, the chances of it gracing our screens one day in the future seem even more likely. That said, there is no official statement on this news/rumor; therefore, take it with a grain of salt as things change drastically and rapidly in game development.
In other reports by the same leaker, Treyarch is apparently developing another Resurgence map for Warzone called Area 99. This will be promising news for players as the same studio also created the popular Rebirth Island map, which we've seen several times over the years in Blackout and twice in Warzone.
