Combat Pacing is one of several new features included in Call of Duty Vanguard. It comes alongside mounting & sliding, destructible environment, and other mechanics. Although not every new mechanic is well received, Combat Pacing has witnessed an overall positive response from players.
The concept behind Combat Pacing is simple—it is a new in-game feature that lets you select the number of players you want in a match. Players can select from the four provided options before they hop into a Multiplayer game.
All types of Combat Pacing in Vanguard
- Tactical Comat Pacing: Comprises of 6–12 players. A traditional 6v6 Call of Duty experience.
- Assault Comat Pacing: Comprises of 20–28 players. Gives you more enemies to kill and while leaving "enough room to breathe".
- Blitz Comat Pacing: Comprises of 28–48 players. Meant for "high-action and chaotic combat".
Selecting the "All" option allows the game to select a random Combat Pacing setting from the above three options.

How to change Combat Pacing in Call of Duty Vanguard
Changing Combat Pacing in CoD Vanguard is pretty simple. Before getting into a Multiplayer game, select the "Quick Play Filter" from the lobby screen. Here you can choose the game mode you want to play as well as the desired Combat Pacing preference.
Here's what the developers have to say about Vanguard's Combat Pacing.
Some players prefer tense, methodical combat, while others earn their glory in the fire of constant battle. Or maybe you just want the ability to choose between the two at will. Regardless of preference, the new combat pacing feature will deliver.
