Black Ops 6 hype is heating up as Treyarch releases teaser after teaser and hint after hint of the upcoming title. However, fans have a big question on their mind: will MW3 cosmetics, weaponry, bundles, and more transfer over to the new installment? We are here to answer that question.
Will MW2 and MW3 content transfer to Black Ops 6?
Currently, we have yet to hear any official word about the subject and we expect that it will take a few months before the question is answered. However, there are a few caveats and interesting tidbits that could shed some light on the subject.
In August 2023, Activision let the fan base know that transitioning over from Modern Warfare 2 to Modern Warfare 3 was going to be easy and painless by ensuring that a vast majority of content transferred between titles. This meant skins, weapons, blueprints, and much more would transfer from MW2 to MW3 on release. Since we know when Activision announced this feature, we can look towards August and September for the official word on MW3 content transferring to Black Ops 6, assuming they keep a similar timeline. In the meantime, you'll definitely want to check out the wild teasers Treyarch is putting out.
The Black Ops 6 weapon leaks, explained
Reddit user FIreBoyi took to the Call of Duty subreddit to announce a leak for the Black Ops 6 weapons. Our protagonist disclaims the images were taken during a volatile point in development and by no means are the leaks guaranteed and are subject to change—a pretty standard PSA.
In the post I can see a few weapons that are currently featured in Modern Warfare 3: the M16, the Tempus Torrent, the Lachmann Sub, and the Kastov 74. Interestingly, all weapons listed are currently terrible in MW3's meta. The Tempus Torrent and M16 have never been META even during MW2's lifetime; however, their existence on this list points towards a potential "partial" carry-over event where only certain weapons receive this treatment.
I'd rather see a clean slate moving into Black Ops 6 as there's far too much bloat in MW3 which causes a lack of visual clarity. Seeing Soap gun me down in a Warzone game is one thing, but a knock-off Teletubby sliding into a building is too much for my taste.
That's all we have on the Carry Over initiative in Black Ops 6. If you're looking for more Call of Duty content check out CoD fans prove the horrible issue with the RGL-80 in Hardcore, Ashika Island is being cut from Warzone and fans think there was a better solution, and more on Pro Game Guides.
