We've got the clues you knead...

Children of Silentown is a dark and quirky point-and-click RPG in which you take the role of Lucy, a young girl living in a small town gripped with fear. Children are going missing allegedly due to monsters in the forest, but is everything as it seems? Early on, you need to collect some items for a shopping list, but it isn't as simple as that. Below we'll tell you how to get the Bread from the Baker in Children of Silentown.

How can I get the Baker to open the Bakery in Children of Silentown?

First, you’ll need to learn The Song of the Children. For this, you’re going to need three song notes:

  1. The Lyre: You learn this in the introduction when the cat almost knocks over the instrument when it plays with its toy.
  2. The Small Bell: Outside Lucy’s home, walk east to the front door with the bell outside. Try the door and the handle breaks off. Use the handle on the bell to learn its note.
  3. The large Bell: You’ll need the broken sling from your room and the pair of tights on the washing line just as you enter the town square. Combine them to make a working sling, then go and talk to Blue (on the south side of the town square). Use the slingshot on his ball, which is stuck in the bell tower. You’ll also hit the bell, learning its sound.

This will automatically mean you’ve learned the Song of the Children. You have to immediately use it to repair Blue’s ripped thought (solution above), then you can leave the town square west to the Bakery. Look through the Bakery window, where the Baker is looking at a photo. Use Song of the Children on the Baker and mend his thought too (solution below). This will snap him out of his mood and into action, opening his door and getting you the bread you need.
