The developers of the upcoming Dead Space Remake held a Developer Livestream to go over all the new features that the remake will have. These include updated weapons audio and Isaac's breathing. The biggest news revealed in the live stream is a release window - the Dead Space Remake is set to release in early 2023. There were rumors that the developers were planning to release the title by the end of the year, though now that does not look like to be the case.

The remake will be based solely around the very first Dead Space game, originally released on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2008. A horror-action game, the first Dead Space received praise for its atmosphere and intuitive gameplay. The game will spawn two sequels, but the franchise would remain dormant after Dead Space 3 underperformed.
The Dead Space remake was announced during EA's 2020 Play Presentation. By the time the remake releases in 2023, it would be the first Dead Space game to come out in 10 years. The most recent title, Dead Space 3, was released in 2013.
