What is Death Stranding 2?

Death Stranding 2 is a sequel to Death Stranding, starring Norman Reedus as the main character, Sam. This sequel continues the chaotic but thrilling sci-fi tale.

A rather elongated trailer was shown off at the Game Awards presentation. While no gameplay specifically was shown off, familiar characters like Fragile and Sam could be seen. Fragile can be seen with a baby in tow, escaping an unknown threat. As they both flee outside, Timefall begins to storm and casts Fragile off her bike.

We saw another glimpse at what we can expect in the State of Play trailer, featuring even more bizarre and thrilling battle sequences and twists and turns in this already complex story. One returning character wields a guitar that they use as their weapon, sending out waves of electricity, and voiced by the iconic Troy Baker.

What is the Release Date for Death Stranding 2?

At the moment, Death Stranding 2 has no exact release date, but as of the last State of Play, we did hear that the game will be released sometime in 2025. As the year comes around, we'll surely hear a more exact date, so stay tuned.

Will there be call backs to Metal Gear Solid in Death Stranding 2?

Kojima had created all of the games in the Metal Gear Solid franchise until his release from Konami in 2015. Death Stranding has been the new focus of Kojima's work, and it looks like it may be a franchise that lasts quite a while.

Kojima appeared on stage after the trailer was shown to answer a few questions from Geoff Keighly. Kojima mentioned that there are "hints" that drop throughout Death Stranding 2. This might be him teasing more Metal Gear Easter Eggs for fans to discover. Death Stranding 2 has no release date as of now.
