Best Royalty Builds in Demon’s Souls

Demon's Souls has many potential weapons and spells to use. It can be hard to choose an effective and fun build to play. Royalty is one of the ten starting classes and can be one of the hardest as they start at soul level one, however they can develop into powerful magic builds. Here are the best royalty builds in Demon's Souls.

Battle Mage

The Battle Mage uses magic and melee to have many advantages to leverage enemies' weaknesses. Many of the bosses and enemies in the game will be weak to either magic, fire, or physical damage. Soul arrow is the first spell you will get access to as a Royalty class. It is cheap to cast and can one-shot enemies at the start of the game. Flame Toss can be used for enemies weak to fire. Crescent Falchion will be your melee option initially, doing both physical and magic damage per hit. The Protection spell can help you stay alive as this build is very offensive-focused. 

• Primary Stat: Magic, Intelligence.
• Secondary Stat: Vitality. Some Strength and Dexterity.
• Weapons: Wooden Catalyst, Crescent Falchion or Crescent Uchigatana.
• Shield: No Shield.
• Armor: Monk's Head Wrappings, Any that allows you to med roll.
• Ring: Fragrant Ring, Ring Of Magical Sharpness.
• Spells: Soul Arrow, Flame Toss, Protection.

Sorcerer

The Sorcerer focuses solely on ranged magic and fire damage. You will always want to stay at a distance from enemies and use either magic or fire spells based on the enemies' weaknesses. Soul Ray is a more robust version of Soul Arrow and does magic damage. Fire Spray will continually hurl fire projectiles at enemies while you hold the attack down. This build can also use Warding, which is an upgraded version of Protection. It provides more physical damage resistance at a huge Mana cost, so save this for boss fights. Kris Blade is only used as a held item as when it is in your hand, it increases your magic damage. You can also use additional spells as needed. 

• Primary Stat: Magic, Intelligence.
• Secondary Stat: Vitality.
• Weapons: Wooden Catalyst, Kris Blade.
• Shield: Any Shield with 100% physical negation.
• Armor: Monk's Head Wrappings, Any that allows you to med roll.
• Ring: Fragrant Ring, Ring Of Magical Sharpness.
• Spells: Soul Ray, Fire Spray, Warding, Homing Soul Arrow.
