Destiny 2 Season 20, the Season of Defiance, comes to a close on May 23, 2023, ushering in the start of Season of the Deep. Along with new content like quests, weapons, and Exotics, there are three new Strand Aspects for Guardians to obtain. Here's everything we know about the new Strand Aspects in Destiny 2 Season of the Deep (Season 21).
All new Strand Aspects in Destiny 2 Season of the Deep, explained
There are three new Aspects for the Strand class in Destiny 2 Season 21: one for Titans, one for Warlocks, and one for Hunters.
Titan Flechette Storm Strand Aspect
Flechette Storm is for Berserker Titans specifically, which allows them to attack from afar, putting more range between them and their opponents rather than rushing in.
The Aspect gives Titans a slide-melee attack that propels them into the air, dealing damage and knocking any nearby targets away. Once airborne, using another melee attack deploys a cluster of Unraveling projectiles for even more damage. Multiple melees can be chained for extra throws.
Warlock The Wanderer Strand Aspect
The Wanderer is for Broodweaver Warlocks. It works similarly to the Shackle Grenade, suspending opponents in the air with a Tangle after dealing explosive damage. Tangles are generated using Threadling final blows.
The Wanderer is a sentient Tangle created when a Warlock picks up a Tangle. When thrown, it tracks down the nearest opponent and latches onto them. This is something I'll definitely be using in PvP!
Hunter Threaded Specter Strand Aspect
Threaded Specter is for Hunter Threadrunners. When equipped, it creates a decoy that explodes into Threadlings that track opponents down once approached or hit.
The Aspect activates when dodging, leaving the decoy behind to distract enemies, making it perfect for creating a window to revive teammates or make a quick getaway. I'll make use of this on my Hunter in PvE, especially in end-game content like Raids, where you need all the distractions you can get.
How to get new Strand Aspects in Destiny 2
The three new Strand Aspects are obtained the exact same way as other Strand Aspects in Destiny 2: using Strand Meditations at Pouka Pond in the Hall of Heroes on Neomuna. To unlock them, you must start "a new pursuit" at Pouka Pond, which is all the information we have right now. We'll update this once we know more once Season of the Deep drops on May 23!
