While Strand may be enjoying its time in the sun, Destiny 2's Mayhem mode is one arena where you want something guaranteed to work. We're not saying that Strand is bad in the super-powered mode, only that we want something we know works. What works for us since the original Destiny is the tried-and-true Solar Titan.
Destiny 2 Titan Mayhem Build
This build is all about bringing the heat. More specifically, it's about throwing molten hammers as frequently as possible and keeping yourself topped off on health. There's some flexibility when it comes to weapons and Exotic armor, so feel free to customize it for that perfect fit.

Destiny 2 Mayhem Titan Abilities
- Hammer of Sol: Summon a flaming hammer and wreak destruction down upon your enemies. Upon impact, your hammers shatter into explosive molten shards.
- Towering Barricade: Create a large barrier that can be used to reinforce a position with cover from enemy fire.
- Throwing Hammer: Throw a hammer from a distance. Picking up a thrown hammer fully recharges your melee ability. If the hammer struck a target, picking it up grants cure.
- Thermite Grenade: A grenade that sends forth a burning line of fire, dealing damage and scorching targets in its path.
Destiny 2 Mayhem Titan Aspects
- Sol Invictus: Solar ability final blows, Hammer of Sol impacts, and defeating scorched targets creates Sunspots. Your abilities regenerate faster, and your Super drains more slowly while standing in a Sunspot. Sunspots apply scorch and deal damage to targets inside. Entering a Sunspot applies restoration.
- Roaring Flames: Final blows with Solar abilities or ignitions increase the damage of your Solar abilities. Stacks three times.
Destiny 2 Mayhem Titan Fragments
- Ember of Empyrean: Solar weapon or ability final blows extend the duration of restoration and radiant effects applied to you. (-10 Resilience)
- Ember of Solace: Radiant and restoration effects applied to you have increased duration.
- Ember of Eruption: Your Solar ignitions have increased area of effect. (+10 Strength)
- Ember of Mercy: When you revive an ally, you and other nearby allies gain restoration. Picking up a Firesprite grants restoration. (+10 Resilience)
Weapons
Weapons are largely at your discretion as the Mayhem mode focuses heavily on ability and Super regeneration. Heavy ammo does spawn more regularly, so bring one that you're comfortable with in nabbing quick kills.
Armor & Mods
- One-Eyed Mask: Highlight and defeat those that harm you for an overshield.
- Loreley Splendor Helm: Create a Sunspot with improved Solar restoration when critically wounded or on a Barricade cast.
- Hallowfire Heart: Solar abilities regen faster, even faster if Super is charged.
- Phoenix Cradle: Sol Invictus lasts twice as long. Allies who pass through your Sunspot are granted Sol Invictus and Solar restoration.
Much like the weapon selection, mods are going to be largely up to whatever fits your playstyle. We recommend mods that reduce flinching, increase ready and stow speed, and increase target acquisition for whichever weapon you're using.
