Best Strand Build for Titans in Destiny 2

They'll never know what hit them.

Strand has burst onto the scene in Destiny 2 and Guardians have immediately begun toying and tinkering with the new Darkness subclass. There are a lot of new terms and interactions with the element, but with some persistent tinkering of our own, we've found the best Strand build of them all.

Lightfall Strand Titan Build

This build is all about suspending targets in the air, immobilizing them, and playing the role of crowd control. It's an unusual take on Titan, but one that works especially well thanks to the Exotic, Abeyant Leap. Pair it with some Strand Weapons and you'll have swarms of enemies on lockdown.

Strand Abilities

  • Bladefury: Create two woven blades and roam the battlefield.
  • Towering Barricade: Create a large barrier that can be used to reinforce a position with cover from enemy fire.
  • Frenzied Blade: Activate your charged melee ability to dash forward, slashing at targets in front of you and severing them.
  • Shackle Grenade: A thrown weapon of weighted Strand matter that detonates on impact, suspending targets and creating additional suspending subprojectiles.

Strand Aspects

  • Into the Fray: Destroying a Tangle or casting your Super grants Woven Mail for nearby allies. While you have Woven Mail, your melee regeneration rate is increased.
  • Dengr's Lash: Activate your class ability to create a ripple in reality that travels forward along the ground, suspending and damaging targets it hits.

Strand Fragments

  • Thread of Mind: Defeating suspended targets grants class ability energy.
  • Thread of Continuity: Suspend, unravel, and sever effects applied to targets have increased duration. (+10 Strength)
  • Thread of Wisdom: Defeating suspended targets with precision final blows creates an Orb of Power.
  • Thread of Binding: Super final blows emit a suspending burst from the target. (+10 Resilience)

Weapons

  • Final Warning
    • All at Once: Holding down the trigger marks targets within range and loads multiple bullets, which fire in a burst with increased stability on trigger release. Hitting a marked target with a fully charged burst will unravel them.
    • Pick Your Poison:
      • Hipfiring: Projectiles will track marked targets, dealing increased body shot damage on impact.
      • Aiming: Projectiles have greatly increased velocity and deal extra critical hit damage to marked targets.
  • Round Robin
  • Circular Logic

Armor & Mods

The goal with any armor build is to reach 100 Resilience first and then spec into any other stat. We do recommend that the second stat be Discipline to keep your Shackle Grenade flying.

  • Helm
    • Strand Siphon, Strand Targeting, Font of Wisdom
  • Arms
    • Strand Loader x2, Font of Focus
  • Chest
    • Charged Up x2
  • Abeyant Leap: Drengr's Lash spawns two additional projectiles, tracks targets more aggressively, and travels farther. Gain Woven Mail when suspending targets.
    • Strand Weapon Surge x2, Stacks on Stacks
  • Class Item
    • Utility Kickstart x2, Outreach
