Destiny 2 – All Titan Strand Abilities, Explained

No enemy will escape your endless dashes.

It's a great time to be a Destiny 2 player, as the game's newest expansion Lightfall has finally been released. With this new expansion comes plenty of new content, and one part of this content is the new Strand abilities coming to each class. For each class, these abilities will vary greatly, and thus will also change gameplay greatly as well. In the case of the Titan class, the Strand abilities heavily push and reward melee combat, allowing players to quickly get in enemies' faces and stay there for as long as needed.

What Strand abilities and Aspects are Titans in Destiny 2 Lightfall?

Frenzied Blade

The Frenzied Blade ability is activated when you use your charged melee ability, and will cause you to dash forward, striking targets you come in contact with and Severing them. This attack not only allows you to deal good damage to your target, but also closes the gap between you and them, giving ample opportunity for follow-up attacks. Not only that, but Frenzied Blade will have three charges, so you can dash and strike three times in rapid succession. In short, nobody is getting away from you when this ability comes off cooldown.

Bladefury

Labelled as a Super Ability, Bladefury is comparable to an aura or stance, as when it is activated it makes the Titan much stronger. This is due to the two blades the ability gives the Titan, as well as the new light and heavy attacks. The light attack becomes a new charging and slashing attack very similar to Frenzied Blade, but it also gains attack speed for each successful hit (up to three), deals bonus damage to Suspended targets, and Severs them as well. The heavy attack is a massive upward slashing ability that deals huge damage and creates two projectiles that will automatically seek enemies, deal damage to them, and Suspend them.

Shackle Grenade

One of the new grenade abilities, the Shackle Grenade will turn into a bola when thrown that will deal damage to and Suspend enemies. Then, after impact the grenade splits into multiple smaller projectiles that will hit any nearby enemies and Suspend them as well.

Threadling Grenade

Rather than being any sort of explosive or movement-hindering device like normal grenades, the Threadling Grenade spawns minions that will attack nearby enemies. Aptly named after Threadlings, the grenade will split into three projectiles when thrown, and these projectiles will turn into Threadlings upon impact. These minions will immediately seek out an enemy to jump onto before exploding.

Grapple

As if the Titan wasn't getting enough movement through its new abilities, they also get Grapple, a new ability that counts as a grenade. This ability is quite self-explanatory, allowing the Titan to aim at a point before firing a Strand line and then zipping to the location. However, the ability can also create its own grapple points anywhere, allowing you to grapple without a point to latch onto. This allows for incredibly flexible mobility through the air, and can even be followed up with a grapple melee, a new attack that deals big bonus damage and Unravels enemies hit.

Drengr's Lash

The first new Aspect that Titan is getting is called Drengr's Lash. This passive ability causes the Titan's Class ability to Suspend any enemies that are hit by the shockwave it generates. This will allow for powerful follow-up damage due to the crowd control and extra damage provided by the ability.

Into the Fray

The second of the new Aspects coming to Titan is Into the Fray. This Aspect is a passive ability that gives Woven Mail to the Titan and nearby allies upon the destruction of a Tangle. Along with the Woven Mail reducing damage taken, the Titan will also gain extra melee energy regeneration while they have Woven Mail.
