Destiny 2 Cataclysmic God Roll Guide

Careful, the moving shapes are entrancing.

Linear Fusion Rifles have been all the rage in the Destiny 2 meta, and Cataclysmic is no exception. This weapon provides damage comparable to Exotic weapons, despite its Legendary rarity. With the Souldrinker origin trait that grants health based on the number of hits before reloading, Destiny 2 players have been itching to get their hands on this Linear Fusion rifle. Make sure to check your Vault to see if you already own this god roll, because Cataclysmic is a must-have in the current meta. Here are the PvP and PvE god rolls for Cataclysmic in Destiny 2.

Cataclysmic god roll for PvP

The Cataclysmic god roll for PvP is Successful Warm-up/Sleight of Hand and High Impact Reserves. Both Successful Warm-up and Sleight of Hand are effective perks, since they increase the weapon's operating speed. Successful Warm-up is optimized for reload speed, while Sleight of Hand is tailored toward charge speed, so the optimal perk is dependent on your preference.

The best barrel for Cataclysmic is Arrowhead Brake, and the best battery is Projection Fuse. Arrowhead Brake vastly decreases recoil, while improving the weapon's handling. Projection Fuse increases the rifle's range, which is specifically helpful in PvP activities. If you're looking to further optimize Cataclysmic's handling, you can also opt for the Fluted Barrel, which also adds some extra stability.

Cataclysmic god roll for PvE

The Cataclysmic god roll for PvE is Fourth Time's the Charm and Bait and Switch. Fourth Time's the Charm returns rounds to your magazine upon rapid precision hits, minimizing the amount of time you have to reload. Bait and Switch gives Cataclysmic a 35% damage boost for 10 seconds, but only if you deal damage with all equipped weapons in a short window of time. If you'd prefer to avoid this playstyle, you can also opt for High Impact Reserves, which causes rounds near the end of your magazine to deal more damage.

The best barrel for Cataclysmic is Arrowhead Brake, and the best battery is Enhanced Battery. Arrowhead Brake helps control recoil, while also providing a boost to handling. Enhanced Battery increases the weapon's magazine size, preventing you from having to frequently reload. If you'd like to optimize Cataclysmic for boss damage, you can also use the Liquid Coils battery, which increases impact damage at the expense of charge time.
