Destiny 2 – How to complete Shaping: Extraction

The weapon crafting system is one of the largest additions to Destiny 2 that came with the launch of The Witch Queen. It adds so much depth to the game, but it also can get quite complicated. Luckily, a few quests are given to you that help to get you familiar. One of those quests is Shaping: Extraction, and here is how to complete it.

Players will receive the Shaping: Extraction quest in the early stages of The Witch Queen expansion. The quest tasks you with extracting materials out of a weapon to use those materials for crafting. Even though there aren't many steps in the process, it can be easy to get lost throughout the steps. Below you will find each step and a detailed explanation on completing it.

• Step One - The first step of this quest is finding a weapon with Deepsight Resonance. These are weapons found within Savathûn's Throne World and are marked with a red border around them in your Inventory. The Syncopation-53 Pulse Rifle should be given to all players early on in The Witch Queen, and this weapon does, in fact, have Deepsight Resonance.
• Step Two -  Next, you have to complete the Pattern and Resonant Element for the weapon. You can do this by using the weapon to defeat enemies and complete objectives. Doing this will fill up the weapons Attunement bar. Once this bar is full, you will be ready to move on to the next step.
• Step Three - Once your weapon has reached full Attunement, you will be able to extract the Resonant Materials from your weapon. Open up your Inventory, navigate to your weapon, and then extract your chosen Resonant Materials from the Deepsight Resonance node.
• Step Four - The final step is to return to The Enclave and interact with the Relic Conduit. Doing this will complete the quest and reward you with five Resonant Alloy, as well as a bunch of other important materials. These materials will be important in shaping weapons as you progress further through the story.

So there you have it, that is how to complete the Shaping: Extraction quest in Destiny 2: The Witch Queen. You will need to follow this same process for all other Deepsight Resonance weapons you acquire. Just fully attune with them and receive materials that will be extremely helpful further into the game.
