With the release of The Final Shape and the shiny new subclass of Prismatic, many will be jumping right in to experiment with all the crazy build potential it offers. However, the tutorial message for how to use the Transcendence ability (the main part of the whole thing) only pops up for a brief time, and it's easy to miss. If you did, don't worry, we'll explain how to do it right here.
Transcendence is the new charged resource that comes as part of the new Prismatic subclass. Using it gives you a big boost to your grenade and melee boosts, which is handy in itself, but it'll also allow you to take down the new Prismatic enemy types. Good news for us Guardians, Transcendence is tracked separately from your regular supers, and you'll gain energy for it by using a combination of light (Solar and Arc) and dark (Stasis and Strand) damage types.
How to Activate Transcendence in Destiny 2
To activate Transcendence, you'll need to either hit 'B' if you're playing on Mouse and Keyboard, or by pressing both L3+R3 if you're on Controller. On Mouse and Keyboard, you can rebind it to your liking, though sadly if you're using a controller you're stuck with what they give you. There are several control layouts to choose from, but due to the nature of controllers, none of them change the transcendence ability button combo.
Your other abilities remain the same whilst in Transcendence mode, with your grenade, melee, and class ability all retaining their normal inputs. They will however be super juiced up and have very fast refresh speeds, so you'll be using those key binds a lot more often.
