How to get Laurels in Destiny 2

Go for the gold!

Eva Levante has returned just in Time for the Guardian Games to kick off in the Tower. While the focus of the Guardian Games is to acquire and turn in medallions to represent a class, Laurels are a gateway to acquiring higher-rank Medallions.

Laurels are earned by defeating enemies with class abilities. These can be powered melee hits, grenades, or supers. Laurels are the key to this year's Guardian Games as they act as a currency for the event. With them, Guardians can purchase bounties and Contender Cards from Eva Levante.

Contender Cards are the path to victory in the 2022 Guardian Games. Base Contender Cards (Vanguard Playlist, Crucible, Gambit, Seasonal Content, and Throne World) cost 100 laurels whereas Platinum Contender Cards (Trials of Osiris, Nightfalls, Raids, Higher Difficulty Throne World Activities, Higher Difficulty Seasonal Activities, and Lost Sectors) cost 200 laurels. Base Contender Cards award a Gold Medallion and Platinum, as its name suggests, awards a Platinum Medallion.

Guardians can only hold a max of 500 Laurels, so make sure you're heading back to the Tower regularly to spend them on bounties and Contender Cards.
