Introduced in the first mission of the new expansion, these nasty little creatures are totally immune to your attacks until you do one very important thing. If you happened to miss the tutorial on it, or you're a new player who didn't quite understand what was said, fret not, we've got you covered.
How to Defeat the New Enemy Type in The Final Shape
Firstly it's important to know how to differentiate between these guys, and your regular rank-and-file goons. Destiny 2 tends to use colored health bars to discern the strength of an enemy, with red being your standard highly-smackable grunt, orange being an 'Elite' enemy, and yellow being a Boss; either mini or proper. The Final Shape introduces the first new type of bar in Destiny history, with the pink 'Prismatic' enemy.
These guys are shielded with some Darkness mumbo-jumbo, and they're a right pain when you're trying to focus up on large amounts of smaller enemy types. In the introduction mission, you'll get the chance to test out the new Prismatic subclass before officially unlocking it at the end of the mission, and this is your key to defeating them early on. You'll know where you can get it based on these big old patches of pink paracausal space whatever, dotted around wherever these encounters are on the mission.
Upon entering the Wellspring, you'll notice a change to your UI in the bottom left, and how you'll gain a new bar which is split into two sections. In order to handle these new enemies, you'll need to fill up that new bar on both sides (which can be done by using a mixture of light and dark abilities) and activate 'Transcendence' (B on M+K - R3+L3 on Controller). This'll give you some very nice new space magic toys to play with, and better yet, allow you to break the shielding on these new enemy types. Whilst temporary at first, fear not, for you'll be rewarded with the full kit and caboodle soon enough.
