How to unlock the Season of Plunder Artifact in Destiny 2

It's the pirate's life for us!

Another season in Destiny 2 means a new Seasonal Artifact. Longtime players will know the score by now. Acquire Seasonal Artifact, level it up, acquire mods, and go to buildcrafter heaven. But that first step, getting the Seasonal Artifact, changes each season. So, how does one retrieve the Skeleton Key in the Season of Plunder?

Where to obtain the Destiny 2 Season of Plunder Artifact

Fortunately, obtaining the Seasonal Artifact isn't too much of a hassle. When Guardians log into Destiny 2 for the first time during Season 18, they'll be instantly placed on a mission where the Drifter requires some assistance. Completing this will treat Guardians to one of the absolutely most endearing cinematics in Destiny history while also putting the Skeleton Key Seasonal Artifact in their inventory.

The Skeleton Key is a sophisticated piece of Eliksni tech that was created just prior to the Whirlwind. It is infamous for its ability to open many different kinds of locks. It is also able to modify select pieces of armor and weapons. Thankfully our old buddy the Drifter knew we could make use of such a fine tool as we wage maritime warfare on Eramis.
