In the Strand subclass, Guardians are able to command tiny minions called Threadlings. These creatures must be created through abilities, but they pack quite a punch. Visually, they appear to be glowing green and black leeches that crawl along the ground. They have the capacity to seek out enemies, landing deadly blows on the unprepared. Come join us as we explain the purpose of Threadlings in Destiny 2.
What do Threadlings do in Destiny 2?
Threadlings are mobile minions that can be summoned with grenades, abilities, and Strand fragments. While they are most commonly found in the Warlock Broodweaver subclass, fragments like Thread of Rebirth and Thread of Finality allow any class to create Threadlings. If you have a Threadling-heavy build, the Thread of Evolution fragment empowers Threadlings, helping them travel farther and deal extra damage upon impact.

When Threadlings are sent onto the battlefield, they only survive a few seconds. In that short lifespan, they will search for enemies, barreling towards nearby targets. If you are playing the Warlock Broodweaver subclass, Threadlings can perch on your shoulder, waiting to be commanded. If you are playing a different subclass, try purchasing the Threadling Grenade from the Pouka Pond for 50 Strand Meditations, and you can test out these minions for yourself. This generates three Threadlings that search for enemies, then die shortly after if they fail to find a target.
